Once every week. Use the cap as measurement. One capful 10cc. 15cc applies to 100 L of water.

Pack Size

This is the 120 ml bottle — ISTA article I-769. They publish three sizes of Water Plant Trace Elements: I-769 at 120 ml, I-743 at 250 ml and I-795 at 500 ml.

Which size to buy. The dose below works out at 15 ml per 100 litres per week, so a 120 ml bottle covers roughly 8 weeks of dosing on a 100-litre planted tank. Trace element mixes contain chelated iron and other compounds that do not improve with age once opened, so a bottle you will finish inside a season is a better buy than one that sits half-used for two years.

Dosage & Directions

ISTA’s dose: once a week, 15 ml per 100 litres of aquarium water. The cap doubles as the measure and holds 10 ml, so a 100-litre tank takes one and a half capfuls. A 200-litre tank takes three.

Dose into moving water, not into a still corner. Pouring it over the filter return spreads it through the tank in minutes instead of leaving a concentrated slug sitting on the substrate.

Dose after the weekly water change, not before. A water change removes whatever is in the water column, trace elements included, so dosing first means pouring most of it down the drain.

Consistency beats quantity. Plants take up micronutrients steadily, and a tank that gets the correct dose every Sunday will out-perform one that gets a double dose whenever someone remembers. If your schedule is erratic, splitting the weekly dose into two half-doses is better than a single large one.

More is not better, and iron is why. Trace mixes are concentrated by design, and excess micronutrients in the water column feed algae as readily as they feed plants. If you are seeing algae rather than growth, the answer is almost never a bigger dose.

ISTA publish this dose on the bottle, not on their website. Their online product entry describes the formulation and lists the pack sizes but carries no dosing table, so treat the label on the bottle you receive as the authority and tell us if it differs from the figures above.

Compatibility

It is a micronutrient supplement, not a complete fertiliser. ISTA formulate it around the trace elements — boron, zinc, manganese, copper, iron and the rest, fourteen in all. It carries no nitrogen, phosphorus or potassium worth the name, so in a tank that is genuinely short of macronutrients this alone will not fix it. In most moderately stocked tanks the fish supply the macros and the traces are what runs out.

ISTA recommend using it with the rest of their water plant care range, which is their own stated advice.

Copper and invertebrates. Copper is one of the elements in the mix, and copper is toxic to shrimp and snails at concentrations that do not trouble fish. Plenty of shrimp keepers dose trace mixes successfully at the normal rate — the risk is in overdosing, not in dosing. If your tank is a dedicated shrimp tank, start at half the stated dose and watch.

It works alongside CO2, not instead of it. In a high-light, CO2-injected tank the plants will use traces fast and this is essential. In a low-light tank without CO2, growth is limited by light and carbon first, and dosing traces heavily into a tank that cannot use them feeds algae.

Shake before use, and keep the cap closed — it is the measure as well as the seal.

Freshness & Storage

Every batch we dispatch carries a minimum of 6 months’ remaining shelf life. Store this product in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, with the cap or inner foil closed tightly after each use.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number, or email us if you would rather, and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 72 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
