Aquarium Heater
Keep your aquarium water at the right, stable temperature with heaters from EHEIM, Fluval, Hydor, ISTA, and Sicce — precision thermostats that prevent the swings that stress fish and stall plant growth. Every heater below is fully submersible and rated for the wattage and tank size stated.
How to choose the right wattage: a commonly used starting point is roughly 1 watt per litre of water for a typical room. If you’re in a part of India where ambient room temperature already sits close to the 24–28°C most fish need for most of the year, you can often get away with a lower-wattage heater than international guides suggest — or run yours only through winter or air-conditioned months. Our full heater sizing and setup guide goes further into placement, one-big-heater-versus-two, and the failure modes worth planning around.
Up to 40L (nano tanks) — 50W: Fluval M 50 Watt.
40–100L — 100W: EHEIM Jager 100W, Fluval E 100W, Fluval M 100W, Hydor Theo 100W.
100–200L — 200W: EHEIM Jager 200W, Fluval E 200W, ISTA Electron Explosion-Proof 200W, Sicce Scuba 200W.
200–350L — 300W: EHEIM Jager 300W, Fluval M 300W, Hydor Theo 300W, EHEIM Thermocontrol e 300W.
350L+ (large tanks) — 400W or two smaller units: EHEIM Thermocontrol E 400.
Which brand fits your setup: EHEIM Jager & Thermocontrol e bring precision German engineering, ±0.5°C accuracy and automatic dry-run shut-off — the dependable default for fresh or marine tanks. Fluval E adds an LCD readout that shows live water temperature and flashes colour-coded alerts if it drifts. Fluval M uses mirror-finish glass that reflects the tank’s own colours instead of sitting there as a visible tube. Hydor Theo is compact and works equally well in turtle tanks. ISTA Electron is explosion-proof, heat-resistant quartz construction for an extra margin of safety. Sicce Scuba is one of the slimmest heaters available, with a dual Celsius/Fahrenheit scale.
