How to use the product

Premium Fertiliser is added every week when changing the water. Tropica’s dose is 6 mL per 50 L of water per week, set in accordance with plant requirements. On Tropica’s small bottles that is three pushes of their 2 mL pump; from a five-litre container, measure it. For example, pale leaves often indicate lack of nutrition, but can also be due to poor growth. Echinodorus bleheri is a typical example of lack of micro-nutrients. Regular dosing with Premium Fertiliser can restore green and luxuriant leaves. Note, however, that Premium Fertiliser is a fertiliser and not a medicine for dying plants.

It is recommended that minimum 25% of the aquarium water is changed every second week. If undesirable algae growth does occur, then we recommend increasing water change frequency (up to 50%) and planting additional rapid growth waterplants such as Hygrophila, Vallisneria and Egeria.

Compatibility

The first compatibility question is with your own tank, not with
your livestock. Tropica build Premium for aquariums with
many fish and few or slow-growing plants, and it is defined
by what they have deliberately left out: no nitrogen and no
phosphorus. The reasoning is that a well-stocked tank already makes
its own N and P, from food and from fish, and adding more feeds algae rather
than plants.

Which means it is the wrong bottle for a heavily planted
tank. If your tank is full of fast-growing stems and lightly
stocked, this fertiliser cannot supply what those plants are short of, and no
amount of it will fix nitrogen-deficient leaves. Tropica’s own answer for
that tank is the Specialised version, which is the identical micronutrient
formula with N 1.3% and P 0.1% added. Choosing between the two is a
question about your tank’s stocking, not about which is the better
product.

The full declaration, as Tropica publish it: iron 0.07%,
magnesium 0.4%, potassium 0.8%, sulphur 0.9%, boron 0.004%, copper 0.006%,
manganese 0.04%, molybdenum 0.002%, zinc 0.002%.

Shrimp and other invertebrates — the honest
answer. Tropica make no statement about invertebrate
compatibility on this product, so we are not going to make one on
their behalf. What we can give you is their own number and the arithmetic, so
you can decide. Copper is declared at 0.006%. At Tropica’s
dose of 6 mL per 50 litres, that works out at roughly
7 micrograms of copper per litre added per weekly dose
— our arithmetic from their figure, not a Tropica claim. Copper is a
plant micronutrient and it is present in essentially every complete
micronutrient fertiliser on the market, including Tropica’s Specialised at
the same concentration; it is also the metal that shrimp and other
invertebrates are most sensitive to, and it accumulates in a tank that is
dosed without water changes. Two practical consequences: keep to Tropica’s
own water-change schedule rather than dosing into stagnant water, and if you
are running a dedicated shrimp tank, start at a fraction of the dose and work
up rather than beginning at the full rate.

It is a fertiliser, not a treatment. Tropica say this
plainly, and it is worth repeating as a compatibility point: a plant that is
dying from poor light, no CO₂ or bad water will not be rescued by
dosing this. Pale leaves often do mean a lack of nutrition —
Echinodorus bleheri is Tropica’s own example of a plant that shows
micronutrient hunger clearly, and regular dosing does restore it — but
pale leaves can equally mean the plant is simply not growing.

Water changes are part of the instruction, not an
alternative. Tropica ask for a minimum 25% change every second week
alongside weekly dosing. If algae appear, their answer is more water changes
— up to 50% — and more fast-growing plants such as
Hygrophila, Vallisneria and Egeria to take up the
surplus, rather than less fertiliser.

Not published, and not invented here. Any statement on
compatibility with medications, algaecides, or other manufacturers’
fertilisers dosed alongside this one; and any invertebrate safety rating.
Tropica publish none of it.

Freshness & Storage

Every batch we dispatch carries a minimum of 6 months’ remaining shelf life. Store this product in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, with the cap or inner foil closed tightly after each use.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number, or email us if you would rather, and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 72 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
