Phosphate in natural sea water ranges from less than 0.01 mg/L to 0.3 mg/L. For corals in reef aquaria, such phosphates should be 0.2 mg/L or less. Phosphates are non-toxic to fish and most invertebrates, but are ideally kept below 1 mg/L to minimize algae growth. In freshwater, phosphates are not critical and the allowable concentration is dependent on variables such as nitrate, manganese, iron, and vitamin concentrations, as well as the extent of use of live plants.

MultiTest Phosphate measures inorganic phosphate to less than 0.05 mg/L, producing a unique easy to read yellow-green-blue color range in marine and freshwater; however, usually, freshwater phosphate concentrations will be beyond the range of this kit, and dilutions of the sample with distilled water will be required. It performs over 75 tests and contains a reference sample for validation.

Seachem’s own spec. Measures inorganic phosphate from 0 to 3.0 mg/L, detectable to less than 0.05 mg/L, read in 0.001 to 0.1 mg/L increments against the supplied colour chart. Works in both marine and freshwater. Seachem notes freshwater phosphate often runs above the kit’s range and needs sample dilution to read accurately.

What’s in the Box

Over 75 tests per kit. Phosphate Reagent 1 and Reagent 2, a Phosphate Reference sample for validating your results, a stir rod and sample pipette, the colour chart (5 cm viewing window) and a multi-cavity test plate, plus instructions.

Setup & Use

How to run it. Add the two phosphate reagents to your water sample in the multi-cavity test plate, then read the resulting colour (a yellow-green-blue range, Seachem states) against the supplied chart.

Freshness & Storage

Every batch we dispatch carries a minimum of 6 months’ remaining shelf life. Store this product in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, with the cap or inner foil closed tightly after each use.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number, or email us if you would rather, and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 48 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
