Back to Nature Slimline Background 80A Basalt/Gneiss

The slim seamless aquarium background.

Setup & Use

This Slimline panel is Back to Nature AB of Sweden’s flat, seamless style of background, finished with a basalt and gneiss rock texture. It is hand made and coloured with natural pigment rather than paint, so slight variation between panels is normal and settles in within days as biofilm builds up, and it needs no epoxy resin coating before going into a freshwater or saltwater tank. This 48 x 80 cm panel, 3 cm thick, cuts from the back with a sharp thin bladed knife or a fine saw, scoring the same line 5 to 10 times before snapping off the excess. Fix it to the back glass with aquarium silicone, a full frame or 10 to 30 good sized dabs, with the top edge roughly 5 mm above the eventual water level, and give it about 24 hours to cure before filling the tank.
