Back to Nature Slimline Background 60A Amazonas

The slim seamless aquarium background.

Setup & Use

This Slimline panel is Back to Nature AB of Sweden’s flat, seamless style of background, styled after the Amazonas look the company is best known for since its original XXL background debuted at Interzoo Nuremberg in 1994. The surface takes its colour from natural pigment rather than paint, so slight variation between panels is normal and settles in within a few days once biofilm and tank lighting take over, and no epoxy resin coating is needed before use in freshwater or saltwater. To fit this 50 x 55 cm panel, cut it from the back with a sharp thin bladed knife or a fine saw, scoring the same line 5 to 10 times before snapping off the excess, then bond it to the back glass with aquarium silicone, either a full frame or 10 to 30 good sized dabs, with the top edge sitting about 5 mm above the eventual water level, and leave it to cure for roughly 24 hours before filling the tank.
