The Back to Nature Reef background features overhanging rocks and ledges, hiding pumps, tubing and cables behind it. Corals and coralline algae colonise it quickly, it resists algae eaters such as doctor fish, snails and crustaceans, and it requires no epoxy resin topcoat before going into saltwater.
The BTN Reef background looks perfectly natural, with overhanging rocks and ledges – the ideal background for a reef tank. Unsightly pumps, tubing and cables can easily be hidden behind it. Corals and coralline algae start colonizing the Reef background quickly, and it resists algae eaters such as doctor fish, snails and crustaceans.
Depth. Back to Nature publish a 19 cm depth across both Reef Background lengths we could verify directly against their own site (100 cm and 150 cm). That is consistent enough that 19 cm is a reasonable planning figure for this 120 cm cut too, though it isn’t the exact SKU we could confirm.
Who makes it. Back to Nature AB, Sweden, part of Back to Nature Holding GmbH (Germany) since 2010. Like the rest of the range, the Reef background needs no epoxy resin topcoat before going into saltwater, and Back to Nature also publish a dedicated product brochure for the reef-background line on their own site.
