The Fluval Mini Master Test Kit offers testing of pH, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate to help you maintain a balanced and healthy environment for your fish and plant life. Test tap water before it goes in the tank, as municipal water can carry ammonia, nitrite or pH swings.

Setup & Use
Test the source water too. Fluval’s own guidance for this kit calls out testing tap water before it goes in the tank, not just the tank itself — municipal water can carry its own ammonia, nitrite or pH swings that get mistaken for an aquarium problem when the real cause is what came out of the tap.
When to test. Most useful during cycling (daily or every few days, to track ammonia and nitrite through the nitrogen cycle) and after anything that can shift water chemistry — a new fish, a large water change, a dose of medication — rather than on a fixed weekly schedule once a tank has settled.
Storage. Liquid reagent test kits are sensitive to heat and direct light, which shorten reagent shelf life and can skew readings over time — keep the bottles capped and stored somewhere cool and dark between uses.
