In an aquarium it is important to maintain optimal CO2 levels. Too much CO2 will result in a lowered pH value, which stresses the fish unnecessarily. Insufficient CO2, on the other hand, is bad for the plants.

Setup & Use

Where it goes in the line is set out in the installation
order printed further up this page: cylinder, then solenoid valve if you run
one, then the CO2-proof check valve, then the glass check valve, then this
bubble counter, and the diffuser last. Note that Greenosis specify
two check valves in that sequence, not one — the CO2-proof
valve protects the regulator side, the glass valve sits closer to the tank.
The counter goes downstream of both, so that water cannot siphon back into
anything expensive.

Hose. Standard 4/6 mm CO2 tubing, which
is Greenosis’s own published connection size. Use a soft hose — their
instruction, and a sound one, because a stiff hose forced onto glass is how
glassware breaks at the spigot. Keep the run as short as you can: every extra
centimetre of tubing is CO2 you paid for sitting in a pipe.

The one hard rule Greenosis print: silicone hose is not
pressure-resistant and must not be used for the connection to the pressure
reducer. That length is the high-pressure side; use tubing rated for it.

Running it. A bubble counter only reads if there is liquid
in it — run it dry and you are counting nothing. Open the needle valve
slowly when you first pressurise: this is glass with gas behind it, and a
sudden surge is worth avoiding on principle.

Fill level and fill liquid are not published. Greenosis
give no instruction on either. Water works and is what most people use;
glycerine slows the bubbles and makes them easier to count, and is common
practice rather than a Greenosis recommendation — we are flagging it as
ours, not theirs. Do not fill it to the top, whichever you use, or gas pushes
liquid up into the line.

Reading it. Count over a full minute rather than eyeballing
a second, especially at low rates. See our guide to

repeating yesterday’s setting, not as a measurement of what is dissolved. A
drop checker tells you that.

Compatible with pressurised gas cylinders and bio-CO2
systems, per Greenosis’s own feature list.

What’s in the Box

One glass bubble counter. That is what Greenosis publish, and it is all
they publish.

Not included: CO2 tubing, check valves, a diffuser, any
mounting hardware, and any filling liquid. This is one piece of glassware in
a chain of parts you assemble yourself — see the installation order on
this page for what the rest of the chain is.

No dimensions are published for the Curved counter.
Greenosis supply a size table for their Straight version (125 mm long, 15 mm
diameter) and none at all for this one, and we are not going to publish the
straight model’s numbers on a curved body. If the physical size matters for
where you are mounting it, message us and we will measure the one in
stock.

Glassware ships insured. If it arrives cracked, photograph it in the
packaging before unpacking further and message us.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number, or email us if you would rather, and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 72 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
