This high-quality paste has been designed as main food for shrimp and the microfauna in the aquarium. Only raw materials of the utmost quality are used, and the paste is manufactured without heat so vitamins and nutrients basically remain intact.

Tima Shrimp paste Red dissolves in the current or when the aquarium inhabitants nibble on it. The food cloud that is produced by this is carried to all zones of the aquarium with the current, reaching all the animals that live in the aquarium.

This Shrimp paste has a red color additive that makes the red color pigments in your shrimp stand out. The red pigments that are already present are enhanced.

We recommend feeding this paste in a food dish so none of it disappears in the substrate unused. For targeted feeding in a food dish that’s already in the tank use a feeding tube, or take the food dish out, attach a bit of the paste to it and place it in the tank again.

Tima Shrimp paste is also great for feeding fan shrimp. Just form a small ball and fix it upon the aquarium glass in the current. The food paste adheres nicely to the glass and dissolves slowly, giving off a cloud of suspended food particles that can be filtered out by the fan shrimp easily.

Feeding Guide

The dose: one pinch per 20 to 30 shrimp, once a day. That is the manufacturer’s own feeding recommendation. It is a knife-tip’s worth — genuinely small — and it is the figure our listing has been rendering as ‘1 razor-sharp’, which is a mistranslation of the German original rather than a measurement.

Feed it in a dish, not into the substrate. This is the manufacturer’s clearest instruction and the reason it matters is simple: the paste is readily soluble, so anything that falls into the gravel is gone, uneaten, and feeding your nitrate instead of your shrimp. A feeding dish keeps it where you can see it and where you can take out what has not been eaten.

Two ways to get it into the dish. Either use a feeding tube to place the paste into a dish already in the tank, or lift the dish out, press a little paste onto it, and put it back. Pressing it on rather than dropping it in stops the paste drifting off the dish as you lower it.

For fan shrimp, do something different. Roll a small ball of the paste and press it onto the aquarium glass in the current. It sticks, dissolves slowly, and gives off a steady cloud of suspended particles — which is exactly what a filter-feeding shrimp is built to catch, and what a food dish on the floor never provides. If you keep Atyopsis or Atya, this is the method to use.

Why it clouds, and why that is the point. The paste dissolves in the current or as the shrimp nibble it, and the food cloud that results is carried through the whole tank. That reaches the microfauna — the copepods, ostracods and scuds that a healthy shrimp tank runs on — as well as the shrimp themselves. The manufacturer designed it as a main food for the shrimp and for the microfauna.

What is in it: molluscs and crustaceans, grains, algae, vegetable by-products, minerals, nuts, oils and fats, and yeasts. The paste is manufactured without heat so that vitamins and nutrients survive processing, and it carries a red colour additive that enhances the red pigment already present in your shrimp. It intensifies what is there; it does not turn a clear shrimp red.

Feed once a day and take out what is left. The published rate is daily, and a paste is easy to overdo because a pinch looks like nothing. Watch how long your colony takes to clear the dish and adjust from there. Any paste still sitting there the next day was too much.

Handling and storage — our advice. Use a clean dry tool, close the pot tightly, and keep it somewhere cool. This is a moist paste rather than a dry powder, so it will spoil if it is contaminated with tank water or left open in a warm room.

Freshness & Storage

Every batch we dispatch carries a minimum of 6 months’ remaining shelf life. Store this product in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, with the cap or inner foil closed tightly after each use.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number, or email us if you would rather, and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 72 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
