This high-quality paste has been designed as main food for shrimp and the microfauna in the aquarium. Only raw materials of the utmost quality are used, and the paste is manufactured without heat so vitamins and nutrients basically remain intact.

Tima Shrimp paste Gravid & Red dissolves slowly as the aquarium inhabitants nibble on it and provides the shrimp with the energy they need to form eggs.

This Shrimp paste has a red color additive that makes the red color pigments in your shrimp stand out. The red pigments that are already present are enhanced.

We recommend feeding this paste in a food dish so none of it disappears in the substrate unused. For targeted feeding in a food dish that’s already in the tank use a feeding tube, or take the food dish out, attach a bit of the paste to it and place it in the tank again.

Tima Shrimp paste is also great for feeding fan shrimp. Just form a small ball and fix it upon the aquarium glass in the current. The food paste adheres nicely to the glass and dissolves slowly, giving off a cloud of suspended food particles that can be filtered out by the fan shrimp easily.

Feeding Guide

The dose is by head count, not by tank. Tima’s
recommendation is a knife tip of paste per 20 to 30 shrimp, once a
day — a Messerspitze in the German original, meaning as much
as will sit on the point of a knife blade. On a colony of sixty that is two
to three knife tips. It is a small amount of a very rich food, and it is
meant to be.

Feed it on a dish. Tima’s own instruction, and the reason
matters: this is a paste, and a paste dropped loose into the tank works its
way into the substrate where it is never eaten and quietly spoils the water.
A feeding dish keeps every gram of it where you can see it and take it back
out. To place it on a dish that is already in the tank, use a feeding tube;
otherwise lift the dish out, press a little paste onto it and set it
back.

For fan shrimp, do the opposite. Roll a small ball and
press it against the aquarium glass somewhere in the current — Tima
note that the paste sticks firmly to glass. It then dissolves slowly into a
drifting cloud of fine particles, which is exactly what a filter-feeder can
catch. Atya, Atyopsis and the other fan shrimp cannot use
food that sits on the floor.

Why this one rather than a plain shrimp food. Gravid
& Red is built for two jobs at once: the energy a female needs to carry
and produce eggs, and a red colour additive that lifts the red pigment the
shrimp already have. It will not turn a shrimp a colour it is not. It is
manufactured without heat, which is what Tima say keeps the vitamins
intact.

Watch the clock, not the appetite. The paste is designed
to dissolve slowly while the animals graze it, so there is no dramatic moment
when it is finished. Check the dish; if paste is still sitting there the next
day, you fed too much, and the next dose should be smaller. In a tank with
sponge filtration and no other scavengers, uneaten protein paste is the
fastest way to a nitrite reading.

What Tima do not publish, and we will not invent. A rate
by tank volume or by grams — they dose per head of shrimp and stop
there. How long the tube keeps once opened. And whether it wants
refrigerating: they do not say, so keep it as you would any moist food,
sealed and cool, and go by smell and texture.

Doses and feeding methods are Tima’s own, from their product
literature in English and German.

Freshness & Storage

Every batch we dispatch carries a minimum of 6 months’ remaining shelf life. Store this product in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, with the cap or inner foil closed tightly after each use.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number, or email us if you would rather, and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 72 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
