What the vacuum is actually for. Catit’s reasoning: dry food is bagged under nitrogen to keep oxygen away from the fat, and the moment you open the bag that protection is gone. This container pulls the air back out and holds the seal, so the food keeps its aroma and its shelf life after opening. Air, light and moisture are what turn kibble stale.
It maintains the vacuum on its own. The lid monitors the seal and re-pulls it when it drops, rather than sealing once and hoping. Standby draw is low enough that Catit rate the battery in weeks, not days.
Two buttons, and the device tells you what it is doing. Lock creates the vacuum: one beep and a flashing blue LED. Unlock lets air back in, also with a flashing blue LED: wait until the blue light stays on for 5 seconds and you hear two short beeps, and then the lid will open. Do not force it before that; you are pulling against a seal.
Charge it every two to three weeks. Catit’s own figure, depending on how often you open it. The LED on top turns red when the battery is nearly flat. The USB-C cable is supplied; the adapter is not, and any 5 V USB-A charger of at least 1 A will do.
Fill it from the bag, and serve the leftovers first. Catit’s own advice for the case where the bag does not fit: use what is left in the bag before you start on the container, because the food in the container is the food that is being protected.
The lid and the container separate for cleaning. The electronics are in the lid; the reservoir is a plain food-grade bin with a curved bottom so crumbs sweep out. Wash the bin, wipe the lid, never submerge the lid.
The scoop clips to the side. 130 ml, and it lives on the container rather than in the food, which is the hygienic way round.
Catit publish the pack contents for this one:
No power adapter. Catit state this explicitly: use any USB-A adapter rated 5 V and at least 1 A.
The kitty-ears handle on top folds flat when you are not carrying it.
