Compatibility

What it is. The impeller assembly for the Fluval U3 Underwater Filter — rated by Fluval for 24–40 US Gal / 90–150 L aquariums. It’s a different part from the shared U1/U2 impeller and from the U4’s own impeller; each size in the U-series line takes its own.

What it does. Fluval’s U-series manual describes it as an impeller fan with an attached cylindrical magnet, fitted into the impeller well at the base of the motor unit — the part that actually moves water through the filter’s three-stage media.

Setup & Use

Why it wears. The impeller is the motor’s only moving part, so it wears with continuous running — which is also why Fluval excludes it from the filter’s 3-year warranty, same as the rest of the U-series line.

Cleaning routine. Fluval’s recommended weekly maintenance: unplug the filter and remove it from the tank, squeeze the blue release tabs at the base and gently pull the motor free, ease the impeller out of its well, then rinse the impeller and magnet in clean water only — never soap or detergent — before reassembling.

Signs it needs attention. A noisier motor or a drop in output flow are Fluval’s own signs to check the impeller first, and to replace it if a clean doesn’t fix the noise or flow.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number, or email us if you would rather, and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 48 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
