Compatibility

What it is. The magnetic impeller assembly for Fluval’s smaller U-series internal filters — the U1 (up to 15 US Gal / 55 L) and U2 (12–30 US Gal / 45–110 L) — sold as one shared part (A15232) across both models. The U3 and U4 above them take their own separate impeller, not this one.

What’s actually inside. Fluval’s own U-series manual describes the part as an impeller fan with an attached cylindrical magnet, seated inside an impeller well at the base of the filter’s motor unit — the magnet is what lets the external motor drive the impeller without a direct mechanical shaft through the filter wall.

Setup & Use

Why it wears. Per Fluval’s manual, the impeller is the motor’s only moving part and wears out over time simply from running continuously — for that reason it sits outside the filter’s own 3-year warranty, the same as every other Fluval filter impeller.

Cleaning routine. Fluval’s recommended weekly routine: unplug the filter, remove it from the aquarium, squeeze the blue tabs at the filter’s base and gently pull the motor away, grasp the impeller and ease it out of the impeller well, then rinse the impeller and its attached magnet in clean water only — never soap or detergent. A small brush or cotton bud clears the impeller well itself before the new part is fitted and the motor reattached.

Signs it’s time. A noisy motor or reduced output flow are the practical signs the impeller needs cleaning first and replacing if cleaning doesn’t fix it — the same fault pattern Fluval documents across its filter lines.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number, or email us if you would rather, and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 48 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
