Compatibility

What it is. A-242 is the same Quick-Clear polishing pad Fluval ships inside its own 107/207 Media Value Pack — confirmed against that pack’s own What’s Included list, which names “3 x Quick Clear Polishing Pads (Item #A242)” for the 107/207 canister filters.

106/206. This listing’s own title extends the fit to the 106/206 media basket as well. The 06 Series filters (106/206/306/406) and 07 Series filters (107/207/307/407) share an identical Media Basket part number, A20046, at the matching size tier — the structural reason an accessory sized for one line’s basket also fits the other’s.

Setup & Use

What it does. A thick, ultra-fine polyester polishing pad that traps micro-particles and debris for water clarity — a finishing mechanical stage, not a replacement for the filter’s main Bio-Foam or Carbon media. Best used in a cloudy tank or right after routine maintenance stirs up fine debris.

Replace, don’t rinse. Like the chemical pads in this range, Quick Clear is a single-use pad on Fluval’s own maintenance schedule — swap it out once it’s visibly loaded with debris rather than trying to rinse it clean.
