Taking pictures of a saltwater aquarium can be difficult with the high amount of blue used in modern aquarium lights. Trying to capture a true colour image usually requires temporarily changing your lighting spectrum and playing with your camera settings. With this handy clip on lens the high levels of blue light are filtered out allowing you to take pictures showing your aquariums full colours without having change light or camera settings.

The Gen 2 single lens uses a combined CPL filter, (Circular Polarising Lens), giving better colour rendering at both 15K & 20K spectrums compared to the original and is more representative of what the eye sees when viewing the aquarium.

This fantastic little device is simple to use and gives great results.

What the two filters each do. The orange element cancels the heavy blue of reef lighting, which is what makes an unfiltered phone photo of a reef come out as a blue wash. The circular polariser cuts reflections off the water surface and the glass. D-D’s claim for the Gen 2 over the original is better colour rendering at both spectrums, and a result closer to what your eye actually sees at the tank.

D-D do not publish a filter diameter for this version. Their larger Coral Colour Lens XL is a 52 mm filter on a large-aperture clip, a different product, and the 52 mm figure should not be read across to this one.

Compatibility

Devices. D-D describe it as fitting the latest smartphones and tablets. It clips over the camera, so it does not depend on a particular model, but it also means the clip has to sit over the lens you are actually shooting with. On a phone with three cameras in a cluster, check which one your camera app is using before you judge the result.

If your device has a wide multi-lens camera array, D-D’s larger Coral Colour Lens XL exists for exactly that reason and uses a bigger aperture clip.

Lighting. Built for blue-heavy reef lighting, and specified by D-D at 15,000 K and 20,000 K. On a freshwater planted tank under a neutral white light there is no excess blue to cancel, so an orange filter will simply throw the picture warm.

What it replaces. Nothing, physically. But it removes the usual routine of switching the lights to a whiter spectrum and fiddling with white balance before every photo. Neither the light nor the camera settings need changing.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number, or email us if you would rather, and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 48 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
