HOLLOW FOOTPLATE DESIGN
The footplate design offers a new methodology to water flow within the skimmer, giving better contact time between the air/water mixture without increasing the overall height of the skimmer. This also reduces the chance of micro bubbles escaping into the aquarium and reduces turbulence and noise within the skimmer body.

EMERGENCY OVERFLOW SYSTEM
The innovative safety overflow feature introduced by Deltec automatically shuts off the air input if the water level inside the skimmer rises, preventing the skimmer cup from flooding.

WHISPER QUIET OPERATION
Every skimmer is fitted with an air silencer to reduce noise produced by air being drawn into the protein skimmer and along with the high-performance pump these skimmers operate with very minimal noise.

TOOLLESS ASSEMBLY / DISASSEMBLY
Due to waste accumulation and calcium carbonate build up protein skimmer pumps generally have to perform in a harsh environment and need to be cleaned periodically to maintain peak performance. With this in mind, Deltec has incorporated a quick tool-less removal system for the pump allowing for easy disassembly, in tests Deltec has been able to remove a pump for cleaning in less than 20 seconds meaning less time spent maintaining equipment and more time to enjoy your aquarium.

What's in the Box

Deltec do not print a packing list on the carton. What follows is what Deltec's manual and their own product page describe as part of the unit as supplied.

• The skimmer body, with the hollow footplate moulded into it, and the bayonet-fit collection cup with its riser tube.
• The Deltec DCC 4 24 V DC pump, with the air silencer on its air intake.
• The SWC 3 ten-stage pump controller. Deltec describe the controller as included, and it carries the feed / pause button — press it and the pump stops for ten minutes, then restarts on its own.
• The emergency overflow pipe and the regulator pipe. Deltec note these are not glued to the footplate and can be swapped for one another to suit your sump.
• A plug for the emergency overflow opening. In Deltec's words, if the safety overflow is not wanted, “the emergency overflow pipe can be removed and the opening can be closed with the supplied plug”.
• The suction pipe that sits over the safety overflow, and the water level adjuster.
• The instruction manual, printed in German, English, French, Italian and Spanish.

Not included. The CSM 2000 manual cleaning head and the CS 2000 automatic cleaning system are both optional and sold separately. An ozoniser, a sump top-up system and the plumbing into your sump are all separate.

Compatibility

• Sump only. Deltec state that skimmers in this series are “designed to operate only in external filter sumps”. This is not a hang-on or in-tank unit.
• Aquarium 1500 to 2000 litres. That is Deltec's own figure for this model.
• Sump water depth 16 to 26 cm. Deltec give this as a requirement, not a preference — the unit will not set up correctly outside it.
• A steady sump level matters more than the exact level. The pump has to lift water against the column standing inside the skimmer, so air output, current draw and throughput all shift as the sump level moves. Deltec recommend an automatic top-up, or a separate skimmer chamber held a little higher than the rest of the sump but still inside the depth range above.
• Footprint 300 × 225 mm. Height 560 mm, which Deltec measure without the siphon. Body diameter 200 mm.
• Power. The pump runs on 24 V DC from the supplied controller. Deltec's manual states that removing the plug invalidates the warranty, so use a plug adapter rather than changing the moulded plug.
• Ozone, if you use it. Deltec allow up to 50 mg/h of ozone per pump, fed in through an ozone-resistant (glass) T-piece in the air hose above the skimmer pump. See Safety below before you set one up.
• Where it settles. After the run-in Deltec suggest controller stage 8 as optimal for most aquariums, which is about 1300 litres of air an hour against a maximum of 1450.
• On a newly filled tank expect a flood of fine bubbles and a cup full of clear liquid. Deltec put this down to the surface tension of new salt water and say it clears as the water matures, which can take two to three weeks. It is not a fault.

Safety & Precautions

• Deltec require every electrical device on the aquarium to be run through an RCD (residual current device).
• Arrange a drip loop in every cable running from the aquarium to the socket — a dip in the cable below the level of the socket, so water running down the cable drips off before it reaches the socket. Position the tank and cabinet to one side of a wall socket rather than under it.
• If the plug or socket does get wet, do not pull the cord out. Deltec are explicit about the order: cut the power at the fuse or breaker first, then unplug and check the socket for water.
• Do not run the unit with a damaged cord or plug, or after it has been dropped or damaged in any way. Deltec ask that repairs go to an authorised service centre rather than being attempted at home.
• Never let the pump run dry. Deltec flag this in the start-up procedure itself.
• Unplug before fitting or removing parts and before cleaning, and pull the plug rather than the cable.
• Close supervision is needed whenever the aquarium is used by or near children.
• Do not use attachments Deltec do not recommend or sell, and do not install or store the unit anywhere exposed to the weather or to sub-zero temperatures.
• Check the water level adjuster at least once a week for dirt or deposits and clean it if needed — it pulls straight up and out. Deltec warn that a fouled adjuster raises the water level inside the body and in extreme cases floods the skimmer. Reset the level after putting it back.
• Every six months, or sooner if performance drops, drain the body, take the pump out and clean the impeller, then soak the neck of the pump housing in white vinegar or a limescale remover. Clear the venturi inlet with a toothpick or a fine drill turned between the fingertips. Stopping the pump for about fifteen minutes once a week helps keep dust and salt crystals from building up in the venturi.
• If you run ozone: never breathe free ozone; never exceed 50 mg/h per pump; do not connect the ozoniser directly to the air valve; mount it high enough that no water can get into it when the pump stops; and check it regularly for dust, because a blocked ozoniser raises the water level inside the skimmer and can make it overflow.

Warranty & Support

This product is covered by warranty as per the manufacturer policy, against material and manufacturing defects from the date of purchase.

Warranty support is handled by us directly. Message our WhatsApp support with your order number and we will diagnose the fault first — most cases are solved by replacing a single part, so you rarely need to send the whole unit. If the item does need to come back, it ships to our Delhi or Pune warehouse, whichever one served your order, and courier cost in both directions is borne by the customer. Your GST invoice is valid proof of purchase for the claim.

Backorder & Dispatch Timeline

This item is stocked to order. Back-orders are consolidated and placed with our overseas suppliers once a month, on the last day of the month, and all such orders are shipped before the 15th of the following month.

Back-orders cannot be cancelled once they have been placed with the supplier. If you cancel before that, payment-gateway charges of 2% plus GST are deducted and the balance refunded. In the rare case a supplier cannot fulfil the item, we will offer you an alternative first, and refund in full with no deduction if you would rather not take it.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number — or email us, if you would rather — and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 72 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
