Description

DiscusX Fluke X- 20g (Effective Against Gill and Body Flukes And Tape Worms)

Fluke X Is A Highly Effective And Safe Treatment For Skin Flukes, Gill Flukes ( And Tape Worms. This Product Is Pure And Only A Little Amount Is Needed For Effective Treatment, Therefore Is Very Economic As Well.

Use When: Effective Against Gill & Body Flukes, Tapeworms, Planaria. Treatment Of Fish Infected With Parasitic Worms Such As Dactylogyrus, Gyrodactylus, Planaria, Tape Worm…Etc. Infection Of Ukes Will Cause Fish To Rub Their Body Or Gills Against Aquarium Décor, The Gills May Also Be Inflamed And Abnormally Open Or One Gill Is Completely Shut. Tape Worms May Be Seen Protruding As White Segmented String Protruding Out Of The Fish Anus. To Treat Round Worms Like Capillaria And Camallanus You Need To Use WORMER X™.

Dosage:

Use One Level Measure Of The Included Spoon (0.5 Gram) For Every 25 Gallon (95 Liters) Of Aquarium Water. If Treating In Main/Display Tank (Not Hospital Tank) Use 1 Level Spoon (0.5 Gram) For Every 50 Gallon (190 Liters). After 24 Hours Make 70-100% Water Change And Add And Replace The Medicine According To The Amount Of New Water Only. To Mix The Powder Properly, Use A Water Bottle To Shake The Powder Some Aquarium Water, Then Distribute It Evenly Over The Water Or Pour It In A High Flow Area (Ex: Pump Return).

Recommendation: Add 1-2g/L Salt Along With Fluke X. Repeat The Above Steps For 7-8 Days. Then After 1 Week From Ending The Treatment, Repeat The Full Course Again.

Professional Use: In Hospital Tanks, With No Feeding And When Using Water Treatment Product To Neutralize Ammonia A Single Dose Can Be Extended To 48 Hours.

Tips:

1- For A More Effective Treatment Raise The Temperature To 28 29 C If Your Fish Can Handle It. This Will Accelerate The Life Cycle Of Dactylogyrus To Make Sure All All Life Stages Of The Parasite Have Reached Adulthood And Are Killed.

2- The Addition Of Salt At The Rate Of 1g/L During The Treatment Will Enhance It’s Effectiveness By Removing The Mucus That Could Help Shield The Parasite From The Medication.

20g Treats Up to 1320L Aquariums.

Precaution:

Store In A Cool Dry Place, Away From Children Reach. For Use On Ornamental Fish Only, Not Intended For Use On Fish For Human Consumption. Fluke X Will Not Impact The Bio Filter, The Treatment Should Be In The Main Tank For All Fish With Filters Running. If Using In Non Filtered Tank Or After Use Of Chloramine T Or Bactocide (Which Will Kill Bio Filter Bacteria) Use Water Treatment Product That Protect From Ammonia Spikes. It Is Also Advisable To Reduce/Stop Feeding To Preserve Water Quality.

Ingredients:

Praziquantel

Compatibility

What it treats: flatworms. Praziquantel, against skin flukes, gill flukes (Dactylogyrus, Gyrodactylus), tapeworms and planaria.

What it does not treat: roundworms. DiscusX are explicit — for Capillaria, Camallanus and other nematodes you need Wormer X instead. The two are not substitutes for each other, and buying the wrong one costs you a week.

Your biological filter is safe. This is the important one: DiscusX state that Fluke X will not impact the bio-filter, and that the treatment should be carried out in the main tank, with all fish present and the filters running. That is unusual for a fish medication and it is why Fluke X is the one you can use on a display tank without stripping it down. Note the dose is halved for a display tank compared with a hospital tank.

If your filter has already been compromised — an unfiltered tank, or a tank that has just had Chloramine-T or Bactocide through it, both of which kill filter bacteria — run an ammonia-binding water conditioner alongside, and cut back or stop feeding to protect water quality.

Temperature. DiscusX suggest raising the tank to 28–29 °C if your fish can take it, which speeds the Dactylogyrus life cycle so every stage reaches adulthood and is killed within the course. Check the species in your tank first — that is a fine temperature for discus and a poor one for many other fish.

Salt makes it work better. DiscusX explain why: 1 g per litre during treatment strips the mucus layer that would otherwise shield the parasite from the medication.

Planaria are a target, not a bystander. DiscusX list planaria among what this kills, so expect it to affect flatworms in the tank generally.

Invertebrates. DiscusX publish nothing about shrimp, snails or other invertebrates for any of their treatments. If you keep them, treat the fish in a separate hospital tank rather than dosing the display — that is the only answer we can give you honestly, and it is also the answer that does not cost you a shrimp colony.

Alongside the treatment. DiscusX recommend adding salt at 1–2 g per litre during the course. They also ask that you run a water conditioner that binds and neutralises both chlorine and ammonia — not just a dechlorinator — because you will be changing large volumes of water daily and, in some cases, working without a mature filter.

Ornamental fish only. Not for human consumption, and not for fish or animals intended for human consumption. Keep out of reach of children and pets.

Storage: cool room temperature, dry. DiscusX specifically say not in the fridge — in a humid climate that causes condensation on and inside the package, and this is a powder.
