EHEIM professionel 5e – the electronic external filter with wireless control and many advantages

The EHEIM professionel 5e was developed for aquarium enthusiasts with very high demands for ease of use and quality. It combines powerful pump performance and a large canister and filter volume with clever design advantages and intelligent electronic control. With the integrated WIFI function, it can easily be configured wirelessly via smartphone, tablet or PC/MAC. The individual functions are: constant flow, bio mode, pulse mode and manual mode. In addition, the professionel 5e can be linked with other devices – e.g. with the LED control+ lighting control system.

The individual settings and functions are as follows:

output control:
Gradual increase of the water flow rate – the maximum capacity exceeds the performance of conventional filters.

constant flow:
Increased pollution in the filter is electronically detected and automatically adjusted to your programmed output. This guarantees a constant flow rate and extended maintenance intervals.

Pulse mode:
The electronically controlled alternating current ensures natural flow conditions in the aquarium.

bio modus (sun/moon):
Changes between 2 adjustable flow rates.

service indicator:
Constant monitoring of the maintenance interval. Cleaning notification is automatically sent to a stored e-mail address.

auto air out:
Accumulated air under the filter head are detected and automatically discharged by an electronic program.

electronic error indicator:
Permanent electronic system monitoring. This starts a program that automatically attempts to eliminate the cause of any errors.

WIFI off:
Optionally, the integrated WIFI function can be deactivated after each configuration. The filter can still be operated without Wifi. To use the functions again, the Wifi function must be reactivated.

What’s in the Box

Filter with pump head and electronics, media baskets with filter media, pre-filter cartridge, inlet pipe and spray bar, hose, double tap connector and the installation accessories.

Setup & Use

The canister sits in the cabinet below the water line. Fit the inlet and spray bar at opposite ends of the tank, connect the hose through the double tap connector, and use the pump head’s self-priming function to start it — there is no manual siphon to establish.

Pair the filter to your home WiFi through the EHEIM Digital app. From there you set the flow rate, schedule a nightly reduction if you want the tank quieter, and get a service reminder and an alert when flow drops below what you set. The pre-filter cartridge is the part you service most often; it is designed to be pulled and rinsed without opening the main canister or disturbing the biological media.

Rinse biological media in tank water, never tap water, and stagger it — never replace it all in one service.

Compatibility

Freshwater and marine aquariums up to 700 litres. Uses 16/22 mm hose, so EHEIM installation sets and inline accessories in that size fit directly. The baskets take EHEIM’s standard media range, and the electronics need only a 2.4 GHz WiFi network within range of the cabinet.

Safety & Precautions

Use an earthed socket and leave a drip loop in the lead. Unplug the filter before opening the canister or the pre-filter.

Close both taps before disconnecting the head, or the canister will siphon the tank onto the floor. The pump head carries the electronics — keep it dry, and do not immerse it. Do not run the filter dry; if it has lost prime, prime it before switching on.

Warranty & Support

This product carries a 3-year manufacturer warranty from the date of purchase, covering material and manufacturing defects. EHEIM excludes wear parts — impeller, sealing rings, hoses and filter media — along with glass damage, units that have been opened, and any unit fitted with non-EHEIM parts.

Warranty support is handled by us directly. Message our WhatsApp support with your order number and we will diagnose the fault first. Most cases are solved by replacing a single part, so you rarely need to send the whole unit. If the item does need to come back, it ships to our Delhi or Pune warehouse, whichever one served your order, and courier cost in both directions is borne by the customer. Your GST invoice is valid proof of purchase for the claim.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number, or email us if you would rather, and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 72 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
