The EHEIM skimmarine 600 is ideal for larger marine water aquariums. It works according to the countercurrent principle and is therefore very efficient. The special needle wheel pump produces an extremely fine-bubble/ air-water mixture. The formation of foam or flotate is correspondingly high and the ceramic axle ensures particularly smooth running and a very long service life.

For optimum skimming, you can adjust and control the air intake, the water level in the reaction chamber and the positioning in the filter sump.

What EHEIM do not publish for this model: a width figure, a power consumption and an air draw. Those rows are blank on their own specification sheet. Note the packed height of 73.5 cm when you are planning where this goes — it is a tall unit and the cabinet has to take it standing up.

Setup & Use

This one lives in the sump. Unlike the 300, the skimmarine 600 is a sump skimmer: it stands in the filter chamber and its height in that chamber is one of the three things you adjust. If you do not have a sump, this is the wrong model.

Three controls, and they interact. EHEIM give you the air intake at the silencer, the water level in the reaction chamber, and the skimmer's own height in the sump. Change one at a time. The usual sequence is to set the height so the unit sits at the sump's normal running level, then set the water level in the reaction chamber, then trim the air last.

Sump level has to be stable. A skimmer set to a level that moves as the sump evaporates down will drift from a dry skim to an overflowing one over a few days. An auto-top-off, or at least a disciplined daily top-up, is what makes a sump skimmer behave.

The silencer is flexible and it is not decoration. It is where the air is drawn and adjusted, and it is the first thing to check when the foam stops — salt creep in the air path will kill the skim long before the pump gives any trouble.

It strips down completely for cleaning. Rinse in fresh water, no detergents, and treat the ceramic axle as breakable.

EHEIM publish no itemised scope of delivery for the skimmarine range; the above is taken from the components they describe as part of the unit on their own product page. It is a complete, self-contained skimmer — there is no separate pump to buy. If anything is short in the carton, tell us inside the 7-day window.

Warranty & Support

This product carries a 3-year manufacturer warranty from the date of purchase, covering material and manufacturing defects. EHEIM excludes wear parts — impeller, sealing rings, hoses and filter media — along with glass damage, units that have been opened, and any unit fitted with non-EHEIM parts.

Warranty support is handled by us directly. Message our WhatsApp support with your order number and we will diagnose the fault first — most cases are solved by replacing a single part, so you rarely need to send the whole unit. If the item does need to come back, it ships to our Delhi or Pune warehouse, whichever one served your order, and courier cost in both directions is borne by the customer. Your GST invoice is valid proof of purchase for the claim.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number — or email us, if you would rather — and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 72 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
