Setup & Use

It is two things in one. Exo Terra build this as a combined water dish and hide-out, so it needs a spot that works for both — reachable for drinking, and out of the basking beam so the water stays cool and the shelter stays a cool retreat rather than a hot box.

Where to put it. Exo Terra's hides do three things at once: they give shade, they add three-dimensional space to the floor plan, and they hold a microclimate that is cooler and more humid than the terrarium around it. Put it at the cool end, away from the basking spot, and it becomes the retreat the animal chooses when it wants to drop its temperature.

Add moss. Exo Terra's own instruction is to put moistened moss — their Forest Moss or Sphagnum Moss — inside it. That is what turns the hide into a genuinely humid pocket, and it is also what makes it usable as an egg-laying site. The moss is a separate product; nothing of the sort comes in the box.

What it is doing for the animal. The moist microclimate supports thermoregulation and hydration and helps the natural shedding process — a reptile with nowhere humid to sit is the one that sheds badly. Multiple entrances matter too: an animal that cannot be cornered inside a hide will actually use it, which is the whole point of putting one in.

Because it holds water, change it and wipe it out on the same schedule as any other water dish. It is food-grade resin and takes cleaning and disinfecting without absorbing anything.

What's in the Box

One Dinosaur Eggs hide and water dish (Exo Terra PT2840, the small size), 11.4 × 14.7 × 11 cm (4.5 × 5.8 × 4.3 in), moulded in one piece from food-grade resin with multiple entrances.

Nothing else. Exo Terra also make this in a larger size, PT2841, at 18.5 × 21 × 18 cm.

The moss Exo Terra recommend putting inside is a separate product.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number — or email us, if you would rather — and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 72 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
