Compatibility

What it is. BIOMAX is Fluval’s ceramic biological media for the AquaClear line — porous rings that give ammonia- and nitrite-reducing bacteria surface area to colonize, run as the last of the filter’s three media stages before water returns to the tank.

Sized for the AquaClear 110 specifically. Fluval’s own AC110 manual lists BIOMAX as a double fill for this model (its parts diagram calls for 2 x BIOMAX), unlike the AquaClear 20–70 filters below it, which each run a single insert. Fluval’s own listing for the AquaClear 70’s BIOMAX insert states 6.8 oz / 195 g for that single-insert pack — almost exactly half of this product’s 390 g, which lines up with the AC110 needing two of them per fill.

Setup & Use

Before first use. Remove from the bag and rinse thoroughly under tap water before loading into the media basket — new BIOMAX carries manufacturing dust that clouds the tank if it isn’t rinsed first.

Ongoing care. Fluval’s own maintenance chart treats BIOMAX differently from the filter’s other two media: rinse it in tank water at each monthly clean, but don’t put it on the same replacement schedule as the Bio-Foam or Carbon — full replacement is called for only occasionally, since BIOMAX’s whole job is carrying an established bacteria colony that a full swap-out would set back.

Not a substitute for the Bio-Foam (mechanical) or Carbon (chemical) stages that come before it in the AquaClear’s filtration order — BIOMAX is the biological stage only.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number, or email us if you would rather, and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 48 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
