What it is. The complete top assembly of the Fluval 206 canister filter: Fluval’s own parts diagram lists it as item 7, the Canister Cover (Motor Head), housing the motor, the magnetic impeller and its ceramic shaft, the impeller cover, and the instant-prime handle assembly.

Part number. Fluval’s parts table lists this assembly as A-20186 for the 206 specifically. The motor head is not shared across sizes the way the basket-side hardware is: the 106 below it uses a different part, A-20181.

Setup & Use

Fitting it. The motor head lifts off the filter canister as a single unit; Fluval’s own instructions for servicing the internal primer use the same access point: removing the motor head from the filter case.

What wears, and what doesn’t. Fluval flags the impeller (replace as a preventative step as it wears from continuous running) and the motor head gasket (O-ring, replace yearly to avoid leaks) as the wear items inside this assembly. Both, along with the impeller cover, are explicitly excluded from Fluval’s manufacturer warranty as wear-and-tear parts: the reason a complete replacement motor head is sold as its own part rather than only individual seals.

Warranty & Support

This product carries a 3-year manufacturer warranty from the date of purchase against defects in material and workmanship, which Fluval extends to 5 years free of charge if you register the product.

Warranty support is handled by us directly. Message our WhatsApp support with your order number and we will diagnose the fault first. Most cases are solved by replacing a single part, so you rarely need to send the whole unit. If the item does need to come back, it ships to our Delhi or Pune warehouse, whichever one served your order, and courier cost in both directions is borne by the customer. Your GST invoice is valid proof of purchase for the claim.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number, or email us if you would rather, and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 48 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
