What it is. The perforated strainer with check ball that fits over the intake end of the hosing, stopping fish, snails and large debris from being pulled into the filter — Fluval’s own item number is A20008.

Fits. One part covers six model numbers across two generations: the 305/405, 306/406 and 307/407 canister filters. Fluval kept the fitting the same across this run, which is why a single strainer serves all three pairs.

Setup & Use

Rinse the strainer during routine filter maintenance to clear trapped debris, and check that the ball moves freely inside it — a stuck check ball is a common cause of reduced flow that gets blamed on the impeller instead.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 48 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
