Compatibility
Freshwater and saltwater aquariums alike. Fluval's rating for this conditioner.
What Fluval claim it does: neutralises chlorine, chloramine and undesirable metals in tap water; reduces fish stress caused by transportation, handling and acclimatisation, through pure herbal extracts; and coats scales and fins to protect against minor abrasions.
What they do not claim, and it is worth being straight about: this page carries no ammonia-detoxification claim. Many aquarists assume any conditioner handles ammonia as well as chlorine, and if that is what you need for a new tank or a transport, ask us and we will point you at a product that is sold on that claim.
Dosage & Directions
Follow the dose on the bottle. Fluval publish a coverage figure for this product rather than a per-litre rate on their website, and the measured dose is printed on the label — that is the number to use, and we are not going to print a different one.
What their coverage figure implies, as arithmetic and nothing more: 120 ml treating up to 908 L works out at roughly 1 ml per 7.5 litres. Use that to judge how long a bottle will last you, not to measure a dose.
When Fluval say to use it: when performing water changes, when setting up a new tank, when transporting fish, and when healing wounds. It is a dose-at-the-time product, not a daily additive.
Pack Size
120 ml / 4 fl oz. Fluval's published coverage for this bottle is up to 240 US Gal / 908 L of aquarium water.
The rest of the range, with Fluval's own coverage figures, in case this is the wrong size for you: 30 ml treats up to 30 US Gal / 113 L; 250 ml treats up to 500 US Gal / 1,892 L; 500 ml treats up to 1,000 US Gal / 3,785 L; and the 2 L bottle treats up to 4,000 US Gal / 15,140 L. The coverage scales with the volume, so the larger bottles are cheaper per litre treated rather than differently formulated.
