Magnetic brushes for aquariums are floating, a useful instrument to keep well cleaned your aquarium glass. They are also very useful to remove dirt and deposits from the glass of Jamaica turtle tanks.

Floating is the feature. If the inner half loses contact and comes off the glass it rises to the surface instead of dropping into the substrate — so you are not digging through the sand or reaching into a planted foreground to recover it.

Hydor make the range in four sizes. On their current product page the small BLU 9031 MINI is the one they call ideal for plastic aquariums, while BLU 9036, BLU 9038 and BLU 9039 — this one among them — are described as perfect for glass.

Setup & Use

Putting it on. Lower the inner half into the tank and hold it against the glass, then bring the outer half up to meet it from outside. Do not let the two snap together through the glass from a distance — on thicker glass that is a real impact.

Cleaning. Work in overlapping passes. Hydor’s point about these is that they take dirt and deposits off the walls efficiently, and they also list them for the glass of turtle tanks, where the film builds up faster than in a fish tank.

The one habit that saves your glass. Never start a pass at the substrate line. A grain of sand picked up under the inner pad will score the glass for the length of every stroke after it. Start at the top, and if the magnet has been near the sand, lift it out and check the pad.

Between uses. Rinse the pad in tank water and let it dry with the two halves separated.

What’s in the Box

One magnetic cleaner: the two halves of the magnet, the outer handle and the inner brush block. Nothing else.

Keep the two halves apart when they are out of the tank. Magnets of this strength snapping together with grit trapped between them is what wrecks the cleaning pad.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number — or email us, if you would rather — and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 72 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
