That is genuinely all of it. The spawning cone has a product page with two feature lines and no specification table, and it does not appear in ISTA's 2024 catalogue at all — we checked the 2022 edition as well, on the chance an older listing carried more, and it is not there either.

Setup & Use

What a spawning cone actually does. Substrate-spawning cichlids want a firm, flat, defensible surface to lay on, and a cave to defend it from. A cone gives them both in one object: an outer surface to spawn on and an enclosed space underneath. Many species will use it in preference to a flat slate, and the pair will clean the surface for days before they use it.

Site it where the pair can defend it. Against the back or a side wall, with a clear line of sight out and no other territory-holder within reach. A cone in the middle of an open tank is a cone that gets contested.

Seat it firmly on the substrate. Cichlids excavate. A cone resting on loose sand will be undermined and tipped within a week — press it down onto the base glass and let the substrate come up around it, rather than standing it on top.

Give shy fish more than one. As a hiding place rather than a spawning site, the rule is one refuge per fish that wants one. A single cave in a tank with three fish that all want it is a source of conflict, not a solution to it.

You can move the eggs with it. This is the practical advantage of a removable cone over a rock pile: if you want to raise a spawn artificially, the cone lifts out with the eggs attached and goes into a hatching tank with an airstone beside it. Keep it submerged during the transfer.

Cleaning. Rinse in tank water and scrub with a brush kept for the purpose. No detergents, ever, on anything that goes back into a tank.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number — or email us, if you would rather — and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 72 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
