Setup & Use

Brush first, blade second. The brush takes soft green film off large areas quickly. The blade is for what the brush will not shift — the hard spots, the calcium marks at the water line, the diatom crust in a corner. Leading with the blade means dragging grit across glass for no reason.

Hold the blade almost flat. Thirty degrees or less to the glass. Held upright it skips and gouges; laid flat it shears the deposit off. Work in overlapping strokes in one direction rather than scrubbing back and forth.

Never let the blade touch the silicone. The seams are what hold the tank together, and a stainless blade will part a silicone joint without you feeling it happen. Stop a centimetre short of every corner and finish those with the brush.

Never use the blade on an acrylic tank. It will scratch, permanently, on the first stroke. Acrylic gets the brush only.

Check for sand before every pass. A single grain caught under the blade or in the brush draws a scratch the full length of the front pane. Rinse the head if it has been anywhere near the substrate.

Set the handle to reach the base without your shoulder in the tank. That is what the adjustable holder is for, and it is worth setting properly before you start rather than halfway down the glass.

ISTA's own cautions: wipe the scraper dry after use; keep it out of reach of children; and change the blade once it has gone blunt. A blunt blade needs pressure, and pressure is what turns a cleaning job into a scratch.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number — or email us, if you would rather — and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 72 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
