K-Balance from Korallen-Zucht delivers concentrated potassium salts, a major reef element shown to improve coral color and growth.

K-Balance contains multiple potassium salts in high concentration.

Our tests in several tanks have shown the benefits in color and growth after dosing a few days.
Potassium is a major element in sea water like Calcium, and is concentrated with ca. 390mg/L.

• Enhances growth and coloration of all corals, especially in SPS like Montipora, Stylopora, Seriatopora, Pocillopora, Acropora. Recommended in any tank system.

Low potassium levels have following characteristics:

Montipora stop growing, colors are dull to grey, good coloration without potassium not possible. Poccilopora and Stylopora with low potassium level look like they have been out of the water in the air, polyps are inside and color is light without depth and washed-out.

Blue Acropora are also washed-out. Seriatopora can show complete tissue necrosis within a few days. Turbinaria Reniformis stops growing.

Dosing: 1ml/100L/25 gallons per day.

Do not increase dosage given on the label. Product is highly concentrated. We recommend to check potassium level regularly like Ca or Mg.

Compatibility

What it is. Potassium. KZ's catalogue: contains several potassium compounds, maintains coral health and biological function, and enhances growth and colouration of all corals, especially blue-coloured SPS and LPS. They also credit it with preventing “old tank syndrome”. In the dosing guide: growth, colour and polyp expansion of all corals, to replace consumed potassium and hold a good level.

Where this sits in the Korallen-Zucht range. KZ build everything around four basis products — ZEOvit zeolite media, ZEObak, ZEOfood and ZEOstart — which together are the ZEOvit system. Everything else in the range, this product included, is a layer on top: colour products, problem solvers, and single elements. KZ's own guidance is that the products can each be used separately, without the complete ZEOvit system and without the other KZ products, but that the full effect in quality and colouration comes only from running the system.

K-Balance Strong is the same job at higher strength, for raising a low potassium level and for large tank volumes.

No ozone and no UV while you are running the ZEOvit system. That is KZ's instruction, and the reason is the point of the system: ozone and UV destroy the microorganisms and elements the whole method depends on.

KZ's own target water parameters, for any tank running their products: calcium 400–410 mg/L, magnesium 1,260–1,280 mg/L, carbonate hardness 6.5–8, potassium 380–400 mg/L, salinity 33–35 ppt. They add a warning worth repeating: higher figures bring no advantage. Neither growth nor colouration in SPS corals is improved by pushing past these, and higher levels tend to have negative effects.

Dosage & Directions

Korallen-Zucht's own dose. 1 ml per 100 litres per day, adjusted to your own potassium level and consumption.

How and where it goes in. Directly into the tank, into the flow.

Start below the figure, not at it. KZ's own instruction for a first-time user, a lightly stocked tank, or a tank with little growth: reduce the dosage recommendation and adjust upward. Their words — do not act on the principle that the more the merrier.

Calculate on gross volume. KZ ask you to use the gross water amount for dosing arithmetic, not a net figure with rock and sand deducted.

Do not exceed the dose on the label. KZ's own warning — the product is highly concentrated, and they ask you to test potassium as regularly as you test calcium or magnesium.

Natural seawater sits at 380–410 mg/L potassium. Bulk Reef Supply list the symptoms of a deficiency: Montipora stop growing and go dull or grey; Pocillopora and Stylophora look as though they have been out of the water, polyps in, colour washed out; blue Acropora fade; Seriatopora can lose tissue completely within days; Turbinaria reniformis stops growing.

Freshness & Storage

Every batch we dispatch carries a minimum of 6 months' remaining shelf life. Store this product in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, with the cap or inner foil closed tightly after each use.

Backorder & Dispatch Timeline

This item is stocked to order. Back-orders are consolidated and placed with our overseas suppliers once a month, on the last day of the month, and all such orders are shipped before the 15th of the following month.

Back-orders cannot be cancelled once they have been placed with the supplier. If you cancel before that, payment-gateway charges of 2% plus GST are deducted and the balance refunded. In the rare case a supplier cannot fulfil the item, we will offer you an alternative first, and refund in full with no deduction if you would rather not take it.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number — or email us, if you would rather — and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 72 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
