MetroPlex is an effective and safe treatment for several protozoan and anaerobic bacterial diseases of fish (Cryptocaryon, Hexamita, Ichthyophthirius). It does not adversely affect the filter bed and is easily removed with carbon. It can either be dosed into the water or combined with Focus in a medicated food mix. It will treat both internal and external infections regardless of the delivery method. When used in a medicated food mix, it is excellent for treating parasites in tanks that contain invertebrates. MetroPlex is gentle and there little danger of overdosing.

Active ingredients: metronidazole (70%) Inactive ingredients: excipients (30%).

Dosage & Directions

In the water: 1 to 2 level measures (included) for every 40 litres (10 US gallons). Repeat every 2 days for up to 3 weeks, or until the symptoms clear. Switch off UV, ozone and chemical filtration while dosing.

In food, which works better for internal parasites: blend 1 measure with about 1 tablespoon of frozen food paste. Use Seachem Focus with it to bind the medication to the food so it is not simply washed out, and GarlicGuard or Entice if the fish needs persuading to eat.

MetroPlex is metronidazole at 70%. There is little danger of overdosing it.

Compatibility

Freshwater and marine. Used for internal and external protozoan infections — hole-in-the-head and lateral line erosion in cichlids and tangs, Cryptocaryon, and internal flagellates.

Gentler on the biological filter than a broad-spectrum antibiotic, but still test ammonia through the course. Designed to be combined with Focus, GarlicGuard and Entice, and can be used alongside KanaPlex where a bacterial infection has followed a parasitic one.

Pack Size

5 g jar with the measuring scoop. Roughly 20 water doses at 1 measure per 40 litres, or a long medicated-feed course — feeding it goes much further than dosing the water. Also sold in 100 g.

Freshness & Storage

Every batch we dispatch carries a minimum of 6 months’ remaining shelf life. Store this product in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, with the cap or inner foil closed tightly after each use.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number — or email us, if you would rather — and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 72 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
