This kit measures total (NH₃ and NH₄+) and free ammonia (NH₃ only) down to less than 0.05 mg/L and is virtually interference free in marine and fresh water. Free ammonia is the toxic form of ammonia (vs. ionized Ammonia NH₄+ which is non-toxic) and thus it is much more important to keep an eye on the level of free ammonia in your system. This kit may be used with freshwater or marine water. Unlike other kits on the market, the chemical basis for this test assures that interference from other substances is highly unlikely. MultiTest Ammonia performs over 75 tests and contains a reference sample for validation.

How to Use

The kit uses a gas-exchange sensor rather than a colour reaction in the water sample, which is what makes it read straight through fresh and marine water without interference.

Pipette the sample into the multi-cavity plate, add the reagent, place a sensor with the forceps, and read the sensor against the sliding colour chart through the 5 cm window in the opaque white plate. Several tests can run at once on the same plate.

Run the included reference sample when you open the kit, and again if a reading ever looks wrong. It tells you whether the kit or the tank is at fault.

Keep it away from children: the reagent contains a strong alkali and the sensor storage gel a strong acid. Rinse thoroughly on contact; for eyes, rinse for ten minutes and seek medical attention.

Freshness & Storage

Every batch we dispatch carries a minimum of 6 months’ remaining shelf life. Store this product in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, with the cap or inner foil closed tightly after each use.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number, or email us if you would rather, and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 48 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
