Strontium occurs in natural seawater at a concentration of about 8 to 10 mg/L. It is chemically very similar to calcium, and many organisms incorporate it in their skeletons along with calcium. Its addition to reef aquariums aids the growth of corals, coralline algae and other organisms that lay down a calcareous skeleton or shell, including tridacnid clams.

Reef Advantage Strontium restores and maintains strontium to levels found in natural sea water. Strontium is utilized by corals in the same manner as calcium and holds a similar importance in maintaining a vigorous level of growth. It is most useful in densely populated aquariums requiring a continuous supply of strontium. Reef Advantage Strontium is a highly concentrated (30,000 ppm), ionically balanced strontium supplement.

Unlike other strontium chloride products, Reef Advantage Strontium™ is formulated so that it can be added directly to the aquarium. Competing products require one to mix a separate solution before adding it to the system.

Compatibility

Marine and reef. Do not mix it directly with any carbonate supplement — dose strontium and carbonate on alternate days, or at least 30 minutes apart, since excess strontium drives carbonate alkalinity down.

Unlike plain strontium chloride it can go straight into the tank without pre-mixing.

Dosage & Directions

Use 6 g (one level teaspoon) for every 150 L (40 US gallons) twice a week. Each such dose raises strontium by about 2 mg/L.

Target 8–12 mg/L, against the 8–10 mg/L of natural sea water.

Seachem's own page disagrees with itself about the rest of the range. Their text lists 250 g, 500 g, 1 kg and 4 kg; their image library lists 70 g, 300 g, 600 g and 1.2 kg — two generations of packaging, and we are not going to pick one and print it as fact. What we can confirm is the pack on this listing: 4 kg, Seachem item #0659.

At 6 g per 150 L twice a week, 4 kg is a very large tub. It is roughly 660 doses — over six years of twice-weekly dosing on a 150 L reef. Unless you are running a large system or a shop, a smaller pack will reach its end in better condition than this one will.

Keep the container closed and dry. These powders take up moisture from the air, and a caked tub doses inaccurately.

Freshness & Storage

Every batch we dispatch carries a minimum of 6 months' remaining shelf life. Store this product in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, with the cap or inner foil closed tightly after each use.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number — or email us, if you would rather — and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 72 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
