Features
Ventilation slots
Ventilation slots in the lid of the filter and aeration grooves in the outflow ensure that water returned to the tank is fully oxygenated and maximize gas exchange during filtration.
Bottom-to-top flow
The pump pushes water up into the basket of the filter, entering through the bottom of the basket and being pushed out the top. A bottom-to-top flow ensures that water comes into contact will all filter media, and cannot go around or over filter media as with hang on back filters with a back-to-front flow.
Maintenance alert
Over time, filtration media can become clogged with detritus reducing or obstructing the flow of water through it. When this happens in Tidal filters, water is redirected around the filter and back into the aquarium through an outlet on the side. The redirected water pushes up the blue maintenance alert on the top of the filter, signaling that the filter needs to be cleaned.
Surface skimmer
The surface skimmer will capture the water from just below the surface, where excreted fish oils accumulate, as well as deeper in the tank removing floating debris
Telescoping intake pipe
The adjustable telescoping intake allows water to be taken from any level of the tank without the need to stop the filter or bother with spare parts
Flow regulation
The flow on the pump is adjustable using the dial on the front
Intake flow regulation
A dial on the side of the filter adjusts how much flow comes from the underwater intake versus the surface skimmer
Specifications
What it is. The Tidal 75, Seachem’s mid-size hang-on-back power filter, built with Sicce. One of four models in the range (Tidal 35, 55, 75 and 110) sharing the same self-priming pump and self-cleaning impeller design and scaling up in flow and media capacity.
Seachem’s own spec for this model. Rated for aquariums up to 75 US gallons (300 litres); flow rate 350 US GPH (Seachem’s own site rounds this to 1,500 L/h; a precise conversion works out closer to 1,320 L/h); filter basket volume 0.50 US gallons (1.9 L); ships with 350 mL of Matrix filter media.
Flow is adjustable, not fixed at the rated maximum. The largest model in the range (Tidal 110, rated 450 GPH) is confirmed adjustable down to 90 GPH on the same unit, and the Tidal line shares that mechanism across all four sizes.
Warranty. 3 years as standard, extendable to 5 years by registering the filter with Seachem.
Setup & Use
Dual water intake with a surface skimmer, pulling from the surface and below it at once. This is what clears the oily film and floating debris a single-intake HOB filter leaves behind.
Filter basket takes any media, not only Seachem’s own: loose or bagged carbon, Matrix, filter floss, whatever the tank needs, on top of the 350 mL of Matrix it ships with.
Maintenance monitor flags when flow has dropped enough that the media needs attention, rather than leaving that to a fixed weekly schedule.
Self-cleaning impeller is built to resist the debris jams that slow a HOB filter’s pump down over time.
Warranty & Support
Seachem guarantees Tidal filters against defects of materials and workmanship for 3 years from the date of purchase, extendable to 5 years by registering the filter. The pump impeller is excluded.
Warranty support is handled by us directly. Message our WhatsApp support with your order number and we will diagnose the fault first. Most cases are solved by replacing a single part, so you rarely need to send the whole unit. If the item does need to come back, it ships to our Delhi or Pune warehouse, whichever one served your order, and courier cost in both directions is borne by the customer. Your GST invoice is valid proof of purchase for the claim.
Returns & Replacement
Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.
If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number, or email us if you would rather, and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 48 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
