The stability of the pH-value is of utmost importance for the marine aquarist. Fluctuations in pH-value soon result in stress and illness in aquarium inhabitants, shortening their life expectancy. Tropic Marin TRIPLE-BUFFER will adjust the pH-value rapidly, safely and simply into the recommended range of 8.1 – 8.4. At the same time it raises the alkalinity lowered by precipitation and thereby prevents dangerous fluctuations of the pH-value. In addition, the trace elements that get lost by precipitation and adsorption will be replenished.

Compatibility

For saltwater aquariums — Tropic Marin list it as suitable for tanks stocked with marine fish, soft corals, LPS, SPS, other filter feeders and crustaceans. It is a carbonate and hydrogen-carbonate blend with trace elements, so it does three things at once: lifts pH back into range, raises and holds alkalinity, and replaces the trace elements that precipitation and uptake strip out.

Do not add buffers and calcium supplements at the same time. Dosing both together risks precipitation, which takes both of them straight back out of solution. Space them apart.

Tropic Marin also publish this in a 1800 g can (article 27052) for larger systems; the can here is the 250 g size, article 27002.

Dosage & Directions

Test the carbonate hardness and the pH of the aquarium water first. Tropic Marin's recommended values are:

• Carbonate hardness: 6 – 9 °dH
• pH: 8.1 – 8.4

If the readings are below those values, add one level measuring spoon per 75 l (20 US-gal.) of aquarium water once a week — daily if the situation calls for it — until the pH and alkalinity reach the target. Sprinkle the spoonful directly onto the surface of the water while stirring.

One level measuring spoon per 75 l raises the carbonate hardness by about 1.4 °dH, which is what lets you work out in advance how many weeks a correction will take. Do not exceed a carbonate hardness of 9 °dH.

Freshness & Storage

Every batch we dispatch carries a minimum of 6 months' remaining shelf life. Store this product in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, with the cap or inner foil closed tightly after each use.

Backorder & Dispatch Timeline

This item is stocked to order. Back-orders are consolidated and placed with our overseas suppliers once a month, on the last day of the month, and all such orders are shipped before the 15th of the following month.

Back-orders cannot be cancelled once they have been placed with the supplier. If you cancel before that, payment-gateway charges of 2% plus GST are deducted and the balance refunded. In the rare case a supplier cannot fulfil the item, we will offer you an alternative first, and refund in full with no deduction if you would rather not take it.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number — or email us, if you would rather — and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 72 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
