What’s in the Box

TUNZE publish a scope-of-delivery list for the Turbelle® nanostream® 6055, and this is it:

  • Motor block, with a cable sleeve already fitted
  • Propeller housing
  • Drive unit, with the bushing and attenuation disc
  • Clamp for the nanostream® series, with a 14 mm silicone buffer
  • Magnet Holder, with two magnetic suction rings
  • Protective grating
  • 24 V DC power supply unit
  • Turbelle® Controller, with its wall mount, three rotary knobs and a 16 mm protective cap

The controller is what makes this a variable pump: the 4 to 18 W and 1,000 to 5,500 l/h range on the specification above is the range it gives you, and the 3 m cable is the run from the pump to the controller rather than to the wall. TUNZE also note that the 6055 and 6095 are the models supplied with a cable sleeve already on them; the separate helical cable guard accessory is for their non-controllable pumps.

The rubber rings on the Magnet Holder come in black and blue, and TUNZE say they can be swapped over for whichever you prefer. The Moonlight unit that switches the controller into night mode is not part of the scope of delivery.

Setup & Use

Mounting on the glass. Prepare the spot first: inside the tank the glass should be free of algae, and outside it should be dry and clean. The outer magnet half is as waterproof as the inner one, so it can also be attached under water — on a drainage shaft, an overflow, or inside a filter tank. Put the inner half against the pane with the clamp facing the glass, hold the outer half opposite it, and bring the two together carefully. Lift the outer magnet slightly off the glass before sliding the holder to a new position. Clip the pump into the clamp and set the flow direction you want.

TUNZE recommend fitting the supplied protective grating across the pump opening, so small fish and crayfish cannot get into it. On glass at the maximum recommended thickness the 3D adjustment is limited by rising lateral pull; past about 40° to 50° off the flow direction a Magnet Extension is needed for safe mounting, and the same accessory is what takes the holder up to 20 mm glass.

Wiring it up. Plug the connector from the power supply into the socket on the Turbelle® Controller, then connect the power supply to the mains. A second pump with its own controller, or a Multicontroller, connects to the upper socket on the controller. For installation the pump cable can be detached from the controller: lever the setting knobs off with a small flat-head screwdriver, undo the two screws on the back of the housing, unplug the connector from the circuit board, and put it all back together once the cable is routed.

What the controller does. The main knob sets pump output. A food-timer button stops the pump so the fish can feed undisturbed, and restarts it automatically after about ten minutes unless you press the button again first. The select button steps through the programs: pulse operation from 2 to 10 seconds for wave motion, an auto adjust mode that searches for the tank’s resonance frequency by itself, and a wave ok setting that holds the frequency it found. Attaching a Moonlight unit to the controller switches night mode on automatically.

Protection and running-in. The pump stops at once if it is blocked or runs dry, and restarts by itself 30 seconds after the blockage is cleared. The pump control is thermally protected and the power supply is protected against short circuit and thermal overload. Running noise is loudest when the pump is new and diminishes over a one to two week break-in period.

Servicing. Clean the pump and drive assembly thoroughly at least once a year, or about every three months where the water is hard, sediment is heavy, or the pump has stalled. Open the pump, pull out the drive assembly, and clean the impeller housing, the drive assembly with its impeller, and the rotor compartment. Never use anything hard on the deposits — a brush or a soft cloth with detergent and/or vinegar. If the drive assembly has too much play, replace the whole part. Reassemble in reverse order.

Warranty & Support

This product carries a 24-month manufacturer warranty from the date of purchase, covering material and manufacturing defects. TUNZE’s printed instruction manual is the document that governs here: their website currently quotes a longer period, but the manual supplied in the box states 24 months, and 24 months is the term we will honour.

What voids it, and what it does not cover. TUNZE name three exclusions: damage from inexpert handling, for which water damage is the example they give; technical modification carried out by the buyer; and connection to devices they have not recommended. The remedy under the guarantee is repair or replacement of the unit at TUNZE’s discretion, and consequential damage is explicitly excluded — on an aquarium that means the unit itself is covered and what happens in the tank when one fails is not. TUNZE also require a defective unit to come back in its original packaging with proof of purchase, so keep the carton and the foam for the two years rather than putting them out with the recycling.

Warranty support is handled by us directly. Message our WhatsApp support with your order number and we will diagnose the fault first. Most cases are solved by replacing a single part, so you rarely need to send the whole unit. If the item does need to come back, it ships to our Delhi or Pune warehouse, whichever one served your order, and courier cost in both directions is borne by the customer. Your GST invoice is valid proof of purchase for the claim.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number, or email us if you would rather, and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 72 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
