Halogen bulbs are actually an advanced variation of incandescent bulb technology. One of the major factors that shorten an incandescent bulb’s lifespan is the evaporation of the tungsten within the bulb. By adding a trace amount of a halogen gas (methyl bromide) inside the bulb, a chemical reaction removes the tungsten from the wall of the glass and deposits it back onto the filament, extending the life of the bulb. The higher temperatures of halogen lighting contribute to a whiter light, a higher light output and a greater efficiency.

Stimulates natural behavior.
Reptiles are ectotherm and thus tend to thermoregulate their body temperature by moving from the warm end to the cold end of their habitat, and vice versa, in order to keep their body at the preferred temperature. The focussed beam of the Basking Spots allows you to direct the increased light and heat to a specific area to create a basking site. This much warmer basking area will create a temperature gradient in the terrarium for your reptile to thermoregulate. Reptiles perceive the light and radiant heat combination that Basking Spots emit as the ideal heat rays for their thermoregulation, similar to what they experience in nature. All the Exo Terra® Basking Spots are manufactured in colored glass to increase the transfer of heat waves which makes them highly energy efficient.
The Exo Terra® Basking Spots not only create a warmer basking area and increase the ambient air temperature, they also emit essential infrared-A heat radiation, which penetrates the skin much deeper to increase blood flow and aid in natural cellular regeneration.
Setup & Use
Aim the beam. The focussed beam lets you point light and heat at one spot to make a basking site. The area under it gets much warmer than the rest of the terrarium, which gives your animal a temperature gradient to move along.
Day and night. It can be combined with a Night Heat Lamp or Infrared Basking Spot for a 24-hour cycle.
Use. It is a pet care bulb for reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates only.
Returns & Replacement
Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.
If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number, or email us if you would rather, and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 48 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
