Aquatic plants also require carbon to fuel the photosynthetic process and turn light energy and nutrients into new plant growth. Carbon deficiency is one of the leading causes of poor plant growth in aquariums. CO2 BOOSTER adds essential carbon in a form plants can absorb from the water. Supplies simple carbon compounds and slowly releases CO to the plants. Can be used alone or with CO2 systems. Safe for use with freshwater fish and will not alter pH. Simple once a day dose.

DIRECTIONS: Use the API Dosing Cap on the Bottle. 

Add 1ml per 10 U.S. gallons of aquarium water or 5ml for 50 gallons. Dose once a day.

Composition & Analysis

Active ingredient. API’s own safety data sheet for CO2 Booster lists two ingredients: glutaraldehyde at 1.6% by weight, with deionised water making up the remaining 98.4%. Glutaraldehyde is the liquid-carbon compound behind this whole product category. It breaks down in the water column to release carbon plants can absorb, which is the mechanism the label’s own description points to.

Handling the concentrate. At full strength, before it’s diluted into the tank, API’s data sheet classes it a skin and eye irritant and a possible respiratory/skin sensitiser. Keep the concentrate off skin and out of eyes when measuring a dose, and rinse the dosing cap after use. This is a bottle-handling precaution, not a statement about the dosed aquarium water.

Compatibility

API state on their own product page that CO2 Booster is safe for use with shrimp, in addition to fish.

Freshness & Storage

Every batch we dispatch carries a minimum of 6 months’ remaining shelf life. Store this product in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, with the cap or inner foil closed tightly after each use.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number, or email us if you would rather, and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 48 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
