What’s in the Box
One Exo Terra Turtle Island (PT3068) with its suction cup fitted. Exo Terra publish no further parts list. The ornament and the suction cup are the product.
- 1 x Turtle Island floating ornament (PT3068)
- Suction cup for secure mounting
Worth knowing before you order: this is the Turtle Island, a 23 x 14 x 4 cm floating ornament held by a suction cup. Exo Terra also make the Turtle Bank, a much larger magnetic platform with a submerged ramp, which is a different product with a different item number.
Setup & Use
Dimensions: 23 x 14 x 4 cm (9 x 5.5 x 2″). It floats and is held in place by the suction cup.
- Press the suction cup onto clean glass. Clean it and the glass first, because a film of algae is what makes a suction cup let go.
- The surface has what Exo Terra call an easyrip texture, so a wet animal can get a grip climbing out rather than sliding back in.
- Put it where the basking lamp is. Its job is a dry, warm, easily-reached spot for the animal to rest, raise its body temperature and get UV exposure.
- Suits semi-aquatic reptiles and amphibians. Exo Terra name turtles, newts and salamanders. Match the island to the animal: at 23 cm across it is a resting spot for a small or juvenile animal, not a platform for a full-grown turtle.
- It works in an aquarium as well as a terrarium.
- Lift it out and rinse it when you clean the tank; the waterline is where film builds.
