Fluval item #A20043, UPC 015561300438. A single media basket for the larger canister filters — one tray in the stack, not the whole stack.

Fluval list it for three generations: the 305/405, the 306/406 and the 307/407. Our page currently names only the last two, so a 305 or 405 owner would pass it by.

For context on what one basket holds: on a 407, Fluval publish a basket volume of 4.2 L against a total chamber volume of 6.0 L, so the baskets are most of the working space in the canister.

Setup & Use

The baskets stack, and the order is the filtration sequence. On the 07 Series the water passes through the foam pads on its way to the bottom of the canister, then rises through the media trays and out. Coarse mechanical media goes where the water arrives first; fine chemical and biological media go later in the path.

On the 07 Series the baskets lift out one-handed. Fluval's EZ-Lift design has a centre handle so the stack comes out without emptying the canister of water first — which is the whole reason to buy a spare basket rather than decant media into a bag.

Never change all the media at once. Fluval repeat this in every manual: the beneficial bacteria live on the media, so staggering replacement is what keeps the biological filter alive through a service. Rinse media in water taken out of the aquarium — never under the tap, and never with soap or detergent.

Freshness & Storage

Every batch we dispatch carries a minimum of 6 months' remaining shelf life. Store this product in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, with the cap or inner foil closed tightly after each use.

Filter media and substrates carry no manufacturing or expiry date — their working life begins on first contact with water, not on the shelf.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number — or email us, if you would rather — and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 72 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
