What’s in the Box

Filter with the eTEC motor head and Lift-Lock clamps, media baskets, the vertical pre-filter cartridge, AquaStop valve, ribbed hosing, rim connectors, intake tube with strainer, output nozzle, and a starter set of genuine Fluval media — foam pads, BioMax and carbon.

The exact media quantities vary between markets and bundles, so check what came in your carton against Fluval’s list before assuming you need to buy more. Everything needed to run the filter from new is included.

Setup & Use

The canister sits below the tank, in the cabinet. Load the baskets from the bottom up — mechanical foam first, then biological media, with the finest polishing pad last, directly before the water leaves.

Fit the intake and output at opposite ends of the tank so water crosses the length rather than short-circuiting. Prime it with the Primer handle: a few pumps, not a struggle. If it will not prime, the taps are not fully open or the hose has a high point trapping air.

The vertical pre-filter cartridge is the part that keeps this filter easy to live with. It catches the coarse debris and can be pulled and rinsed on its own, without opening the canister or disturbing the biological media. Rinse it monthly, service the main baskets quarterly, and rinse biological media in tank water only — never under the tap, and never all of it at once.

Freshwater and marine aquariums of 90 to 330 litres (40–70 US gallons).

Read the two flow figures the way Fluval intends them: the pump moves 1,150 l/h, but filter circulation — the figure through a loaded canister — is 780 l/h. Size against 780. At the top of the range that is a little over two turnovers an hour, which is fine for a community tank and light for a heavily stocked or messy one.

Takes Fluval’s 07-series media and accessories. The 06-series media largely interchanges, which is worth knowing when sourcing spares.

Safety & Precautions

Use an earthed socket and leave a drip loop in the mains lead. Always unplug the filter before opening it.

Close the AquaStop valve before disconnecting anything. That is what it is for — without it, a 7.3 litre canister siphons the tank onto the floor. Do not run the pump dry; prime before switching on.

Check the hoses and the motor-head seal at every service. A perished seal is the usual cause of a canister filter leaking overnight, and it is a cheap part to replace before it fails rather than after.

Warranty & Support

This product carries a 3-year manufacturer warranty from the date of purchase against defects in material and workmanship, which Fluval extends to 5 years free of charge if you register the product.

Warranty support is handled by us directly. Message our WhatsApp support with your order number and we will diagnose the fault first. Most cases are solved by replacing a single part, so you rarely need to send the whole unit. If the item does need to come back, it ships to our Delhi or Pune warehouse, whichever one served your order, and courier cost in both directions is borne by the customer. Your GST invoice is valid proof of purchase for the claim.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number, or email us if you would rather, and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 72 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
