Fluval Ammonia Remover is a natural ion-exchange media designed to remove toxic ammonia as water passes over it. Controlling ammonia levels reduces stress on fish. Use this product to provide a healthy environment when setting up a new aquarium or maintaining one that contains a higher than average fish stock.

Compatibility

Fluval list it as compatible with all canister filters. It is a loose granular medium supplied in mesh bags, so it will also go into a hang-on-back chamber or a sump that has room for a bag.

Freshwater. Ion-exchange resin of this type does not work in saltwater — the sodium and other ions in marine water occupy the exchange sites.

Setup & Use

Rinse the medium, put it in the bag supplied and place it in the flow, where water is forced through it rather than around it. A bag sitting in a chamber the water flows past does very little.

It works by ion exchange, capturing ammonia as water passes over it. That makes it most useful in exactly two situations: a new tank that has not cycled, and a tank that is genuinely overstocked.

It is not a substitute for a cycled filter. Once the biological filtration is established the ammonia is being handled by bacteria, and leaving the resin in indefinitely simply competes with them.

Safety & Precautions

Freshwater only, and not a replacement for cycling a tank. Keep testing ammonia while it is in: the resin exhausts, and an exhausted resin gives no warning that it has stopped working.

Do not use it alongside an ammonia-binding water conditioner and then assume a test result. Keep it out of reach of children.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number, or email us if you would rather, and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 72 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
