Setup & Use

Check your hose size before you order. These are the 17 mm
pipes. Greenosis publish no specification saying what that 17 mm is measured
on — they publish nothing at all beyond the feature list on this page
— so we will tell you the convention rather than dress it up as their
figure: across this whole category, a pipe sold as 17 mm is the one made for
16/22 mm tubing, and a 13 mm pipe is the one for 12/16 mm.
That is what the number means on every other brand’s glassware. If your filter
runs 12/16 mm hose, this is the wrong size. If you want the spigot on the one
in stock measured with a vernier before you commit, ask us and we will do
it.

Fitting it without breaking it. This is the step that
breaks lily pipes, not the tank. Soften the hose end in hot water for a minute
first, then push it onto the glass with a slow twist, holding the glass close
to the joint rather than at the far end. Never force cold, stiff hose onto a
glass spigot, and never lever the pipe to seat it. If the hose has been on a
previous fitting and has taken a set, cut 20 mm off and start with fresh
material.

Setting the height. This is an outlet, so it sets the
surface. Sit it so the return just ripples the surface without breaking into
splash: too deep and you lose the surface agitation that carries off the film,
too shallow and it drags air down into the water column. On a CO2-injected
tank that height is a real dial — more surface movement means more CO2
off-gassed, so set the outlet, then re-check your bubble count rather than the
other way round.

Aim it along the long axis of the tank so the flow travels
the length of the aquascape and returns along the back. Pointed across a tank
it dead-spots one end.

Cleaning. It will film over — that is the price of
glass, and it is why people buy it anyway. A soft bottle brush and a soak
(dilute bleach or citric acid, then a very thorough rinse) restores it. Never
use a metal brush or a dishwasher, and do not run boiling water into a cold
pipe.

How this differs from the Poppy outlet. Greenosis supply the same eight feature bullets for both pipes, word for word, so nothing they publish separates the two. What actually differs is the outlet aperture: the two heads are bored differently, which changes the velocity of the return rather than the pattern it makes. For the same pump, the narrower aperture sends water further across the tank and the wider one delivers the same volume more gently. Tubing compatibility is identical — both are the 17 mm size, so either will fit the same filter and you can swap between them without changing hose. That description is ours, from the pipes themselves, not a Greenosis specification, and we have deliberately not put a number on the bore because we would only be estimating it. Ask us and we will measure the one in stock before you order.

What we cannot give you, and will not estimate: overall
length, the drop from rim to outlet, glass wall thickness, and any flow-rate
rating. Greenosis publish none of it, and a lily pipe’s drop is exactly the
measurement that decides whether it suits your tank’s rim height. If you need
those numbers before ordering, message us and we will measure the piece in
stock — that is a five-minute job and a far better answer than a figure
copied off someone else’s listing.

What’s in the Box

One glass outlet pipe, plus the suction cups to mount it — Greenosis
state that “the necessary suction cups are included”, and that is the extent
of what they publish about the carton. They do not say how many cups,
and we are not going to guess.

What is not included, because this is a single pipe and not a
set: no inlet pipe, no hose, no hose clips, no surface skimmer
attachment and no spare cups. If you are re-piping a filter you need the
matching inlet as a separate purchase.

Glassware travels well when it is packed well and badly when it is not.
Every one of these ships insured, and if a piece arrives cracked, photograph
it in the packaging before unpacking further and message us — that is
the evidence the claim runs on.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number, or email us if you would rather, and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 72 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
