The joints are pretty leakproof. I have seen no leaks so far. Easy to assemble. The atomizer does produce microbubbles that you will see throughout the tank once attached at the output of your filter. If appearance is a sensitive issue for you, then perhaps you should look for in-tank diffusers. I do not mind the bubbles as long as the CO2 is dissolved well.
