Korallen-Zucht Bio-Mate 50 ml

Bio-Mate from Korallen-Zucht cleans substrate and rock while reducing mulm and phosphate buildup in aquariums with heavy detritus.

Helps breakdown decomposing substances in the sand bed and on rock surfaces commonly referred to as mulm.  Mulm is often an unattractive brown material that settles throughout the tank. Primary source of mulm is uneaten foods and fish waste.

Proper use of Korallen-Zucht Bio-Mate will:

• Reduce mulm deposits.
• Reduce phosphate.
• Clean Live Rock and substrates.

Compatibility

Marine reef aquariums. This is not a freshwater product.

Aimed at tanks carrying a mulm load: a sand bed that has gone brown, rock with detritus settled on it, or a system where phosphate creeps up between water changes without an obvious source. It cleans substrate and rock surfaces.

It is a biological product, so it belongs alongside the rest of the Korallen-Zucht system rather than instead of it — it deals with detritus that has already settled, which is a different job from the export a skimmer or a phosphate remover does.

Dosage & Directions

• Dose: 1 drop per 95 litres (Korallen-Zucht's figure: 1 drop per 25 gallons)
• Frequency: twice a week

Bio-Mate works on mulm — the brown detritus that settles in the sand bed and over the rock, which is mostly uneaten food and fish waste. It breaks that material down, which is why KZ list phosphate reduction as one of its effects: the phosphate was locked in the detritus.

It is a slow, low-dose product rather than a treatment. Two drops a week on a 190 litre tank is the whole of it, and the sand bed lightens over weeks. There is no benefit in overdosing it.

Korallen-Zucht give Bio-Mate a shelf life of 3 years.

Pack Size

50 ml. At KZ's dose of 1 drop per 95 litres twice a week, a 50 ml bottle is a very long-running supply on any normal tank — count the shelf life, not the volume. Korallen-Zucht give Bio-Mate 3 years.

Korallen-Zucht also make Bio-Mate in 10 ml and 100 ml.

Freshness & Storage

Every batch we dispatch carries a minimum of 6 months' remaining shelf life. Store this product in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, with the cap or inner foil closed tightly after each use.

Backorder & Dispatch Timeline

This item is stocked to order. Back-orders are consolidated and placed with our overseas suppliers once a month, on the last day of the month, and all such orders are shipped before the 15th of the following month.

Back-orders cannot be cancelled once they have been placed with the supplier. If you cancel before that, payment-gateway charges of 2% plus GST are deducted and the balance refunded. In the rare case a supplier cannot fulfil the item, we will offer you an alternative first, and refund in full with no deduction if you would rather not take it.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number — or email us, if you would rather — and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 72 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
