Korallen-Zucht ZEOspur 2 – 500 ml

Korallen-Zucht ZEOspur 2 is designed to reduce the amount of zooxanthellae in acropora, anacropora and montipora coral tissue to bring out brilliant coloration. The reduction of zooxanthellae in the outer layers brings out the colors from deeper within the coral. Korallen-Zucht ZEOspur 2 will have the fastest and most dramatic impact on coloration and your whole system. Optimizing your dose for your tank is critical to maintain overall health of the system.

Recommended dosing schedule is every 14 to 21 days. It is important to apply the full dose all at once or the changes will be negligible. When starting out KZ recommends starting at half the suggested dose and increasing the amount dosed over time by 10% to find the ideal dose for your tank. Please be aware that it is possible to reduce the production of zooxanthellae so much that the coral will not get enough energy via photosynthesis. While it is possible for a coral to survive this way for a significant amount of time overdosing should be avoided.

• Maximum dosage is 1 mL per 25 gallons, every 7-10 days – net water volume.
• Do not exceed recommended amount – over dosing will induce bleaching.
• Do not use on newly acclimated corals.
• Do not use in new systems.
• Only use with healthy corals.

Compatibility

What it is. KZ’s catalogue: for maintaining extreme colouration and brilliance. It contains elements that control and reduce zooxanthellae density, mainly in Acropora, Anacropora and Montipora: reducing the density in the outer layers is what lets the coral’s own colour show, and KZ say the coral then has more energy for health and growth.

Where this sits in the Korallen-Zucht range. KZ build everything around four basis products: ZEOvit zeolite media, ZEObak, ZEOfood and ZEOstart, which together are the ZEOvit system. Everything else in the range, this product included, is a layer on top: colour products, problem solvers, and single elements. KZ’s own guidance is that the products can each be used separately, without the complete ZEOvit system and without the other KZ products, but that the full effect in quality and colouration comes only from running the system.

ZEOspur Macroelements is the companion product: KZ describe it as the optimal addition to ZEOspur 2.

For a tank not on the ZEOvit system, KZ point at Trace Element Complex instead. ZEOspur 2 is the balanced trace element product for ZEOvit tanks.

No ozone and no UV while you are running the ZEOvit system. That is KZ’s instruction, and the reason is the point of the system: ozone and UV destroy the microorganisms and elements the whole method depends on.

KZ’s own target water parameters, for any tank running their products: calcium 400 to 410 mg/L, magnesium 1,260 to 1,280 mg/L, carbonate hardness 6.5 to 8, potassium 380 to 400 mg/L, salinity 33 to 35 ppt. They add a warning worth repeating: higher figures bring no advantage. Neither growth nor colouration in SPS corals is improved by pushing past these, and higher levels tend to have negative effects.

Freshness & Storage

Every batch we dispatch carries a minimum of 6 months’ remaining shelf life. Store this product in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, with the cap or inner foil closed tightly after each use.

Backorder & Dispatch Timeline

This item is stocked to order. Back-orders are consolidated and placed with our overseas suppliers once a month, on the last day of the month, and all such orders are shipped before the 15th of the following month.

Back-orders cannot be cancelled once they have been placed with the supplier. If you cancel before that, payment-gateway charges of 2% plus GST are deducted and the balance refunded. In the rare case a supplier cannot fulfil the item, we will offer you an alternative first, and refund in full with no deduction if you would rather not take it.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number, or email us if you would rather, and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 48 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
