How to Use

The Trident NP sets up the same way as the ACM: a single 1LINK cable to the Energy Bar for power and data, the sample line into the tank or sump, the waste line into a waste container, and a guided task in Apex Fusion with video at each step. Two months of reagent stores inside the unit rather than beside it.

What happens on each test. Once a day, by default, the NP draws a 30 ml sample and runs an automated titration with colorimetric identification for nitrate and phosphate. You can start an extra test by hand whenever you want one. Nitrate reads to ±1 ppm and phosphate to ±0.01 ppm, or within 5% of the reading, whichever of the two is greater. The used sample goes to the waste container and is never returned to the aquarium.

The waste is acidic — neutralise it before it goes down a drain. This is the one part of running an NP that has no equivalent on the ACM. Neptune supply a waste-neutralising powder in the reagent kit: mix it with water in the waste container, which should be HDPE (recycling class 2). Once the waste is neutralised it can be safely discarded down the drain. The Apex Fusion task “Trident NP Reagent Replacement” walks through it. Nitrile gloves are supplied in the kit for handling the reagents — Neptune describe them as not much more acidic than some household cleaning solutions, but to be handled with care all the same.

Changing reagents. Run the “Trident NP Reagent Replacement” task about once every two months. An NP kit holds Reagent 1, Reagent 2 and a two-part Reagent 3: 3A and 3B are mixed together at the point of installation, following the instructions in that same task. Each bottle lasts 60 days once opened.

Tests per kit and shelf life. One kit gives approximately 60 nitrate and phosphate tests at the default schedule of one a day. NP reagents are sold in two-month kits; unlike the ACM there is no six-month pack, because the chemistry does not keep as long — the Use By date is calculated as 8 months from the manufacture date, and it is the date by which the reagents must be installed, not the date they spoil. A calibration standard is included in every kit. Reagents are sold separately; this listing is the tester only.

Using the results. Every result logs to Apex Fusion, where you can graph it, set high and low alerts, and trigger other equipment. Paired with a DŌS or DŌS QuietDrive, the NP can drive Trident Controlled Dosing so that what you dose tracks what the tank is actually consuming.

Warranty & Support

This product carries a 1-year manufacturer warranty on hardware from the date of purchase.

Warranty support is handled by us directly. Message our WhatsApp support with your order number and we will diagnose the fault first — most cases are solved by replacing a single part, so you rarely need to send the whole unit. If the item does need to come back, it ships to our Delhi or Pune warehouse, whichever one served your order, and courier cost in both directions is borne by the customer. Your GST invoice is valid proof of purchase for the claim.

Backorder & Dispatch Timeline

This item is stocked to order. Back-orders are consolidated and placed with our overseas suppliers once a month, on the last day of the month, and all such orders are shipped before the 15th of the following month.

Back-orders cannot be cancelled once they have been placed with the supplier. If you cancel before that, payment-gateway charges of 2% plus GST are deducted and the balance refunded. In the rare case a supplier cannot fulfil the item, we will offer you an alternative first, and refund in full with no deduction if you would rather not take it.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number — or email us, if you would rather — and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 72 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
