PURPOSE:

Ammonia Block eradicates poisonous ammonia infinitely quicker than any other product on the market. New Ponds can be stocked immediately without the fear of an ammonia spike or losing fish. Simply add the correct number of PODS to your Pond Reactor and allow your filter to mature naturally over the next 12 weeks.

Compatibility

Filter types. RP build this to work with gravity, pressure and tower filters — it is a bolt-on media chamber rather than a filter in its own right, and it plumbs into an existing system.

Media. It takes any of RP's own pod media, and the capacity and flow ceiling are the same across all of them:

• Ammonia Block — 6 pods, up to 30,000 lph
• Carbon Clear — 6 pods, up to 30,000 lph
• Phosphate Gone — 6 pods, up to 30,000 lph
• Water polishing — sponges only, up to 30,000 lph

Note that the pond pods are a different pack from the aquarium ones: the reactor takes six, and RP sell replacement sets sized for it.

Plumbing. It must be plumbed vertically, and RP note it can be run on a bypass, which is the arrangement we would recommend on any pond you cannot afford to take offline — it lets you isolate the reactor for a pod change without stopping the filter. RP recommend 2" flexible boot connectors for the seal and for getting it apart again to clean, and those are not included.

Position in the system. When you are using it to safe-start a new pond, plumb it after the biological section. See Safety & Precautions below before you decide where it goes — on this product that decision has consequences.

Zero running cost. There is no pump and no power in this unit; it runs on the flow your existing filter already produces.

Safety & Precautions

Position it wrong and you can crash the filter. This is RP's own warning, not ours, and it is the single most important line on the page: if the reactor is used differently from their diagrams you can cause a filter crash, because the filter bacteria are starved of their food source — specifically when running Ammonia Block. Ammonia is the food for the bacteria you spent a season growing. Strip it upstream of the biological stage and the colony dies back. Plumb it after the biological section.

Pods must lie flat. RP are explicit that the round pods must be placed flat and not squashed up, sitting between the sponges as their diagram shows, so that water crosses the full face of each pod.

Clean it when the flow drops. RP's maintenance instruction is to clean the reactor when flow becomes restricted — a chamber in series with your filter that silts up is a chamber that is throttling the whole system.

Mount it properly. Two brackets are supplied; RP recommend No.10 screws to fix them, and those are not provided. A full reactor on a vertical run is a real weight to hang off pipework alone.

Handling the media. The pods contain ion-exchange resin. RP's data sheets recommend gloves, washing hands after handling, and keeping the granules out of your eyes — they cause irritation, and their instruction is to rinse for several minutes and seek advice if it persists. The resins are classified as not hazardous, not harmful to plant or animal life and not harmful to the environment. Store spare pods in a ventilated place and never above 50 °C.

Take the media out during any pond medication, the same as you would pull carbon. Put it back when the course is finished.

We are not publishing dimensions or a weight for this, because RP do not. There is no height, diameter, body material or dry weight in anything they put out, and those are exactly the numbers you need to work out whether it fits the space beside your filter. Message us before ordering and we will measure the unit in stock — that is a better answer than a figure copied from a reseller's listing.

What's in the Box

RP's own feature list names two things in the carton beyond the reactor itself:

• The Pond Reactor body, ready to plumb in.
• 6 Ammonia Block pods — enough media for the first 12 weeks.
• A spanner for opening it.
• 2 mounting brackets.

The sponges are the one item we cannot pin down. RP's applications list refers to "7 sponges as provided", and their installation instruction has the pods sitting between the sponges — both of which read as though the sponges come with it. Their headline feature list, though, mentions only the pods and the spanner. Those two statements do not quite agree and we are not going to resolve them by guessing. If the sponges matter to how you plan to run it, ask us before ordering and we will open a carton and count.

Not included: the 2" flexible boot connectors RP recommend, the No.10 screws for the brackets, any pipework or valves, and any replacement pods beyond the first six. Carbon Clear and Phosphate Gone pods for this reactor are separate purchases.

Warranty & Support

This product is covered by warranty as per the manufacturer policy, against material and manufacturing defects from the date of purchase.

Warranty support is handled by us directly. Message our WhatsApp support with your order number and we will diagnose the fault first — most cases are solved by replacing a single part, so you rarely need to send the whole unit. If the item does need to come back, it ships to our Delhi or Pune warehouse, whichever one served your order, and courier cost in both directions is borne by the customer. Your GST invoice is valid proof of purchase for the claim.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number — or email us, if you would rather — and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 72 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
