Acid Regulator adjusts pH to the acidic range (4.5 to 5.5) and softens water by precipitating calcium and magnesium. Acid Regulator supports the establishment of the optimal environment for all acid acclimated species (e.g. neons and other tetras, etc.). For further freshwater environment enhancement, use Fresh Trace to restore the proper level of trace elements and feed NutriDiet Tropical Flakes for thriving, healthy freshwater community fish.

Contains phosphate buffers and conditioning agents. Safe for all freshwater fish acclimated to acid pH.

Compatibility

What it is. Acid Regulator adjusts freshwater pH down into the acidic range (4.5-6.8) and softens water by precipitating calcium and magnesium: built for species that need a genuinely acidic, soft environment, not just a nudge downward.

Where this sits in the Seachem range. A buffered pH-down product built on phosphate buffers and conditioning agents. Seachem’s own caution: because of the phosphate content, it isn’t recommended as the sole pH solution in a planted tank: Acid Buffer is the product they point to instead for planted setups.

Best suited to. Freshwater species acclimated to acidic water (neons and other tetras are Seachem’s own examples) and safe for all freshwater fish adapted to that range.

Dosage & Directions

Seachem’s own dose. 1 level teaspoon (5 g) per 40 L (10 US gallons), daily, until the target pH is reached. For an accurate gram measure, Seachem recommends its Digital Spoon Scale over eyeballing a teaspoon.

Maintenance. Once target pH is reached, dose only monthly or with water changes, as needed to hold it there.

Fine control. Acid Regulator can be combined with Neutral Regulator to land on a specific pH point, using Seachem’s published ratio chart for the two products. Dechlorinate tap water with Prime before any water change that uses either.

Warranty & Support

This product is covered by warranty as per the manufacturer policy, against material and manufacturing defects from the date of purchase.

Warranty support is handled by us directly. Message our WhatsApp support with your order number and we will diagnose the fault first. Most cases are solved by replacing a single part, so you rarely need to send the whole unit. If the item does need to come back, it ships to our Delhi or Pune warehouse, whichever one served your order, and courier cost in both directions is borne by the customer. Your GST invoice is valid proof of purchase for the claim.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number, or email us if you would rather, and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 48 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
