AmGuard safely, rapidly and efficiently detoxifies toxic free ammonia. It is safe to use during tank cycling and is ideal for treating emergency situations. AmGuard is the strongest liquid ammonia binder on the market. It works within minutes to detoxify free ammonia, and it doesn’t degrade for nearly 72 hours. That’s at least twice as long as our competitors’ products. Unlike competing products, AmGuard converts it into a safe, non-toxic form that is readily removed by the tank’s biofilter. It does not alter pH.

Ammonia can exist in two forms: free and ionized. It is only the free form that is toxic. Traditional ammonia test kits convert all ammonia to free ammonia by raising pH to 12–14; at this pH AmGuard cannot function and thus a false positive reading will result. For long term ammonia control, use Seachem Stability and Matrix. Use Ammonia Alert or MultiTest Free & Total Ammonia to directly monitor levels of free ammonia. AmGuard also removes chlorine and chloramines.

Compatibility

Freshwater and marine, and safe in reef and planted tanks and with invertebrates. It does not alter pH, KH or GH.

Do not use above 30 °C (86 °F). Large doses reduce dissolved oxygen, so avoid stacking it with other oxygen-reducing products in a tank that is already struggling.

Dosage & Directions

Use 5 mL for every 200 L (50 US gallons) daily as needed. AmGuard binds free ammonia for up to 72 hours and converts it to a form the biofilter can process, and it removes chlorine and chloramine as well.

Dose to the ammonia reading rather than to the calendar, and stop once the filter has caught up.

Buy the size you will get through in a reasonable time and keep the bottle closed, cool and out of direct sun. A part-used bottle that has stood open for a year is poorer value than a small fresh one whatever it cost per millilitre.

Freshness & Storage

Every batch we dispatch carries a minimum of 6 months' remaining shelf life. Store this product in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, with the cap or inner foil closed tightly after each use.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number — or email us, if you would rather — and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 72 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
