Seachem Liquid Marine Buffer will safely raise marine pH to 8.3 while adjusting alkalinity. It will not raise pH above 8.3 even if inadvertently overdosed. Liquid Marine Buffer® contains a balanced blend of bicarbonate, carbonate and borate salts designed to raise pH and restore disrupted buffer systems to the proper balance.

Seachem Liquid Marine Buffer shares the same blend as Marine Buffer powder; thus, it confers the same benefits. It is a blended buffer that drives and holds your pH at 8.3 because of the blend. The pK of Seachem Liquid Marine Buffer is actually slightly higher than 8.3 in order to combat the influx of bicarbonate at every water change.

Compatibility

What it is. A balanced blend of bicarbonate, carbonate and borate salts that raises and maintains marine aquarium pH at 8.3, and restores a buffer system that has drifted out of balance. Seachem states it can be used safely in reef tanks.

Where this sits in the Seachem range. Liquid Marine Buffer has a pK of 8.3, lighter on carbonate than Reef Buffer’s pK of 8.6. Seachem’s own comparison: Reef Buffer is the stronger choice where heavy biological activity (a typical reef tank) is producing more acid, while Liquid Marine Buffer suits a fish-only marine setup or a lighter correction.

Built-in ceiling. Seachem states the buffer will not raise pH above 8.3 even if accidentally overdosed.

Dosage & Directions

Seachem’s own dose. 1 capful (5 ml) per 20 L (5 US gallons), daily, until pH stabilises at 8.3. This can take anywhere from one day to a week depending on the starting point. Continue as needed to hold the level.

Checking it worked. Seachem recommends testing with a marine pH & alkalinity kit rather than judging by eye.

Freshness & Storage

Every batch we dispatch carries a minimum of 6 months’ remaining shelf life. Store this product in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, with the cap or inner foil closed tightly after each use.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number, or email us if you would rather, and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 48 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
